Hey guys, I'm looking to get one of these cat back exhausts for my 98 GS, no other mods yet, and as I compare these two, quality, looks, price and performance are pretty much the same, my question is loudness/sound. I want a deep rumble type of sound at idle and low rpm's , but then slightly louder when I get on it. I want to avoid the weedwhipper sound that I have heard from alot of cheap exhausts, and I don't want something so loud that i can't hear the stereo, or get hassled by the cops over. So which do you guys who have heard these exhausts think? Of course if anyone has a sound/videos clip of either ,even on a different car, that would be great. Also, I eventually plan on getting a header and hi flow cat which I've heard will help the sound of either.
thanks
Rob

I've had both on my car, and to be honest i like the Greddy Evo much more. The Apex N1 just looks cool the way it sits out the back.

Greddy - Low deep tone, highway drone in your car makes you go crazy

Apex N1 - Loud racey sound, somewhat deep (changed ever since header went on)

I also have a header and hi-flow cat,and that makes a remarkable difference in sound on the n/t's.

Here is a videoclip awhile back i had.At this time it had no header or hi-flow cat, it was just the N1 and my CAI.

I know that the Greddy Evo pipe goes over the axle, does the Apex N1 go under the axle because of the angle on the muffler?

Yeah, mine goes under the axle now. My piping tends to hit on large dips in the road, which kinda sucks.

APEXi N1 owns GReddy. Believe me i LOVE the GReddy tone, and quietness but it sjust TOO deep when you are on the road for longer distances. you will get a headache quick. N1 Looks cooler, sounds better because its more racy, and i believe i've read that n1 has a tad better performance (like .5 hp but like you will really notice).

I've heard both the Evo and N1. The Evo has a deeper "bass like sound" in all rpms, while the N1 has a deep rumble at idle but it sounds a little too high pitched in higher rpms, kinda reminded me a little of a "you know what".
