Finally decided to go with NOS

Been thinking and thought i might as well go with NOS. What is everything im going to need and what is the best compression ratio to go with NOS. Any other imput would be greatly excepted. thanks
 
Uhh.. Go to the nos fourm yo. I use a Zex dry kit (and people call me stupid for doing it but Fuk them anyway) and a dry works perfect. 55 shots on Stock internals works fine. Wet or Dry, our 420a engines can take it.
 
yeah... some people don't relize NOS is an actual brand... so when someone says NOS i think they are talking about nitrious oxide... cuz NOS brand sux ass.... and whoever uses that stuff is stupid..

And btw F&F is a POOOR ilustration to the street racing/racing world in my opinion..:thumb: FIRST off "nawwwws" isn't explosive, so why did the evermorepowerfull eclipse blow up? Not cuz the "nawwwws" people, maybe becuze the bullets hitting a gas tanks, who knows... ask hollywood if u give a damn.. But both those movies are poor excuses of street racing/racing.


(P.S.)The brand NOS is made by Ford..... Wow.... Enough said.
 
Actually I can somewhat accept the fact that people refer to nitrous as "NOS"....I mean, after all...N-O-S does stand for Nitrous Oxide System which I think would be acceptable terminology for ANY brand nitrous setup being they are all nitrous oxide systems. Those of you who get your panties in a bunch when people use the word "NOS" need to get a life and chill. Do you jump down someone's throat when they ask for a Kleenex..referring to a tissue? Same difference...Give it a rest.
 
Not to stir things up...but im sure you didnt call it "NOS" before you watched the movie...i was just messin with you though I just wouldnt say it to much some guys on here will pull out the blow torch...hell who cares "NOS" it on up :D
 
yeah 4 realz, we wern't causin trouble... Everyone can call it wut they want, I call it spray when people ask me wut I have. Just a term... Now if you were using the ford made NOS brand, then we would have problems ;)
 
Ford does not make the NOS brand, I don't know who told you that, that’s the dumbest thing I have ever heard. NOS is owned by Holley who has been around independently for years and years, not Ford. :rolleyes:

If your going to get a NITROUS SYSTEM (I don't care what anybody says don’t call it NOS) go with a WET setup as dry runs out too quickly when you max your stock injectors. An NX single nozzle or direct port system would be the way to go.

If you’re serious I would get a direct port NX kit on that. With pistons and rods you should be able 150hp+ shot on your car. With that setup you should be able to hit 330whp with tuning and luck.

BTW: Your all motor quest for 330hp is not achievable, so good choice on going with nitrous. The fastest all-motor 4cyl car in the world just ran 9.99 and can barely make 270whp and he has over 50k+ U.S. into the motor and related parts for speed. So your choice to go with nitrous is a good idea. You would NEVER hit 330whp on your car NA ever, no matter what, never ever. Money and time would not matter, it's not possible. You just can't physically suck in enough air to make that type of hp, sorry. Tell your 330+hp plans to Eric Agular at Erick's Racing, and send me back the email of him laughing at you.

He claims 300+bph but has never proven to lay more than 270whp which is still A LOT for a NA 4 cyl car.

Actually i agree and disagree with the above statement! While 330whp is NEAR impossible, hitting around 330 crank hp is possible, atleast according to 2gnt.com! Also consider that the erik guy listed above has a honda civic(I think, correct me if i am wrong)platform which makes him start out with about 25-30 less bhp than us N/T have(also, unless he has v-tec, so if i am wrong tell me). Take for example:(numbers taken from 2gnt)

97 eclipse gs: 140bhp
Exhaust: 5hp
Intake: 8-12hp
UDP: 5-8hp
Header: 1-2hp
Ported Intake Manifold: 5-8hp
AF/X Ecu(Race only unit, for 97's only): 44hp(This estimate is directly off of Howellautomotive.com site).
Test Pipe: 2-5hp
Cam Gears: 6-8hp
Ported Throttle Body: 5hp
Camshafts: 10-20
Headwork: "possibly up to 50hp for the headwork in conjunction with a higher rev limiter and very high performance cams"
2.2 Stroker kit: 20hp. Maybe even a 2.4 stroker from fasterthanyou.com, but not how much more power that will give.
10.5 Compression Pistons: Add 4%hp
12.5 Compression Pistons: Add about 8% hp.

Now even if you take the numbers posted above as Crank hp #'s that according to my calculation still give you roughly 334 Crank hp which is around 295 whp through drivetrain loss etc. These numbers arent even with 12.5 pistons or the highest size cams available. Ofcourse to do all this would require a MAJOR investment in TIME, MONEY, AND TUNING. But dont say its not possible because it is.

Thats all fine and dandy. Eric is running a GSR which is 174hp stock, he has 16.5:1 compression and a custom made header with a burns stainless collector espically designed for his car (which he now produces). That collector alone is $1500 u.s. He has custom made cams espically for his setup, the head is clover leafed, bottom end o-ringed etc etc.. You couldn't build his shortblock for less than 10k. Whole motor with manifolds on both ends is 25K+ and it's not 300whp.

Basically getting even 330crank is not possible on a N/T DSM or 420A motor, sorry. If somebody gave you a million dollars and unlimited access to every tool on earch like GM gave to Lingenfelter for the Cavalier EcoTec motor then it might be possible but I don't see that happening.

Either you didnt read what I posted, or you not willing to admit what a n/t motor can acomplish......Possibly both. Not trying to start an argument, but with all I listed above, Its DEFINATLY POSSIBLE:thumb:
 
Someone is gonna have to show me, for me to believe it...i want a vid and dyno results...if someone puts that much time/money into there engine im sure they'd run it on a dyno. By that time lets look at the money you spent....and what you couldve had..LOL
