Ya...well at least I do. There was a friend down my block who had a 1990 TSI AWD 5 speed. After time he put over 4g's in it....18's, lowered, trans upgrades,Apexi Exhaust, computer mods ect. Well I was 17 at the time and I figgured if I got a talon it would automaicly be AWD turbo Stick. Well I come home one day and in my diveway sat a bright shiny red 90 Talon. Not one blemish and it was bling'n. Well when my friend came back from college a month later I was informed it was a base model and no turbo and now AWD. I was able to settle for auto but after that news all hope was lost. I didnt want to be ungreatfull to my parents so I bit it. So thats how I got a NT DSM....just by pure mistake. And still it fustrates me at times...GRRRRR

I just want to know if there are idosent others like me out there.=(

preach on larry!!!!! but on the other hand not all N/T are bad. just cost a little bit more to get them going

yeah the turbo engines wil be ran harder and last alot less than a N/T plus pure power is always cool a ALL motor can be the best.

I know how he feels! Im in a 1998 Eclipse Rs. I started going to some stret races and my friend has the fastest eclipse in town. A 1997 turbo awd eclipse. He is like a slingshot in the 1/4 mile races. And now he is upgrading his turbo. This kid doesn't stop......I think he will be burried in his car. Anyway.....I raced my first race and won.....I raced a pink geo storm with a huge custom intake, headers and a beefed up exaust. I killed him by three car lengths. All I have is a AEM intake.....but I prevailed. Then a Mitsubishi Mirage wanted to go.....so we went.....he killed me by like three or four car lengths. He had done alot to his car though. Now it's in my blood and I thirst for more every week.....just gotta keep saving the $$$ and you will slowly become fast. I suggest you find some peeps who street race or go to a track and take your baby for a spin and see how you do.....you might suprise yourself. Once you get your a$$ kicked you will want to start saving $ so you can get some mods....and it never stops from there....unless you blow it up. Good luck.....

dont give up dude....you can make that car move. save money and rebuild the motor. then add a turbo or NOS later.

im 17 my parents bought me 98 eclipse RS NT i love it and im very very happy! its quick just not that quick...

trust me a complete rebuild with a little higher compression will be a hell of a lot more power.

non turbos can be nice if youre stick....but automatic.....well just look at my 1/4.....18.06!!!!

with no muffler

I like my nt. I put a modest amount of money into it to make it look nice and go a little faster. I'm lucky enough to have my parents buy it for me, and I'm not keeping it just because they got it for me, I'm keeping it because it's a nice car, and I don't see too many talons over here. Besides, I don't wanna be one to complain (even though I do, a lot) that my car is not a turbo, I'll probably buy one when I get out of college with a job.

well like i said....dont yall give up! make those lightly modded turbo guys have some competetion without the turbo. it can be done!

I'm very happy with my car, for the fact that i never really race it. Its fun to cruise around in, and the girls love it. I go more for the looks anyway, i live in new england and the roads suck, you can never drive fast anyway.

I couldn't care less either...I had a Porche 911 Targa 15 years ago and I got the racing bug outta my system long ago (I'm 39) These days I'm much more concerned about how cherry my car looks after 12 years on the road and through Canadian winters...there are few DSMs around these parts that still look in show-room condition like mine does... :)

(My car is posted in the gallery if you would like to see what I mean...)

look at it this way....a N/T eclipse is still quicker than a lot of cars...no matter what what you have, if its a GSX or a Supra TT you are never gonna be the fastest car out there. Continue doing what you love. I have a RS and I love it, there is no other satisfaction than working on my car.

I'm not the fastest one but I sure can smoke a hell of a lot of people.

:D

i have a n/t talon w/ 116g's on it. and im debating wether or not to dump anymore money into it. im gonna lower it when i get my next pay check but i dotn know if i should do anyhting else performance wise due to the mileage?

I think i've had the most trouble in the world geting my 98 n/t Talon to go fast w/o turbo, but we all prob have !! Just think of one thing speacily all yall with the 420a engines[neon motor] what is the ''all motor'' fastest car on the east coast????..The ccnp neon runin low 11s, so just keep spendin and well all meet and be in a magizine!!! race ya!!LOL

My 1.8L nt is going to be my "show" car and then buying a turbo awd for a complete rebuild for my racer. I could really give 2 sh*ts about racing in my nt, even though i get a grip more races on the street from other imports just because I put new wheels on. Right now, I don't bother racing anybody, for (1) no license, and (2) don't feel like getting my ass whooped LOL jk :D It really pisses off people when you won't race them, it's funny.

I also own a N/T Eclipse its a 94 GS (4G63 not 420A) I've done some work on it but after getting a ride in a 97 GS-T I'm exploring the option of turbo charging my car, But I really don't like the Idea of a turbo it gets so hot under my hood enough already ( I live in Florida) well here goes my question does anyone know of anyone who manufactures a Supercharger kit for the N/T Eclipse. Also does anyone know how much streetable (daily driver) Power you can get out of the 2.0 without using Nos, Turbo or Supercharger? Thanks

I agree with 99% of the replies here. I lone my car, even before I rebuilt and turboed it. I loved the way it looked. I had every bolt on you could have and it was still pretty slow. But I didn't care. Just the way these cars look was enough to make me happy. I wanted performance so I went the turbo route, but I still love my NT eclipse. (although there is nothing like a little boost in the morning)
