Is the BBK throttle body for a 2G non turbo a good performance part to get? About how much power can you get from it if any?

Thanks

What mm is the throttle body, how much is it and where can you get it, i need one if its big.

have you found the mm on the bbk throttle body yet. AS of yet i have only found ones that are like 1 or 2 mm bigger, not worth it, i will amke one custom.

A ported TB definitely helps gain a few hp. Our stock intake is lacking and leaves a lot to be desired.

I am not aware of the specs on the BBK, but for less money you could send your TB to either Howell or to ARD. Howell will port it out to 55mm straight through. ARD will port it out to 57mm if you really want it.

Which you choose depends on what you want to do. Porting out to 55mm is good for either an all motor setup as it will flow plenty cfm's (I have exact specs somewhere if you really need them) or if you do not want to bother with porting out the intake manifold. If you want to go whole hog go the ARD way, but be aware you should sort out your manifold as well. If you speak with ARD they can do that.

I forget the web address for ARD but they are in Houston and work with a lot of 420A stuff.

I wrote up a more thought out response to this and then thought to myself, nah hell, just go with 57mm. In the long run if you want to get a turbo and since you are doing it now just go for it. It is not going to break anything, just not match the inlet of the intake perfectly. Getting it ported later is easy anyway. You will still feel good power gains regardless if you do or not right now as well.

Murix- heheheeh...I was hoping for the longer more thought out response from you. I just wanted to make sure i wasn't going to have weird idle or something with a 57MM and a stock manifold. Thanks again. Haven't seen you much on the 2GNT board lately

you can get a 55mm tb on e~bay for 100 bucks, and you can get your intake port and polished for about 100, honestly anything over 55mm isnt really going to make that much of a differnce, for the 55mm tb on ebay search for 420a and it will pop up, the guy takes a stock one and bores it out to 55mm and puts a new plate in it, i got one and i havent had any problems yet ;)

do you know how much it is at ARD? can you port the intake mani to that diameter or do you have to add material or whatever like the 60mm? thanks.
