So far I only got a cold air intake,header and cat-back exhaust. How much hp do you think this will give me. And also what is the next part I should replace to give me more gain ? I have another $1000 to spend on the car
 
what do I need to do to my head...port and polish ....what do i port it to or bore it to?
 
I'm also thinking about getting some new camshaft and cam gears from Crane Cam...which one do I need to purchase....what stage....i'm just going for all motor
 
join the club i am also doing an all motor setup, i am goin with 10.5-1 pistons,rods, Moroso Oil pan, Head work, cams, Springs, and lash lifters. 50 Shot of NOS port and polish intake manifold and bigger tb. What are your goals for hp/ 1/4 times? any, you should have an idea of what you would like to get out of the motor, i believe (not for sure) the #12-14 cam is best for our motor, my budd has a neon and basically same motor, some minor differences but thats what they say to run. Supposed to be really good not to bad of an idle but a definate difference. Good luck to your build up hope its goes better than mine is

That intake manifold only made 50 extra HP because it was going into a car with 350+ initial HP. If you put that IM on his car, he'll be lucky to get 5HP because it is not the most restrictive part of his intake system.
 
Back to your original question guy1innc. The CAI, header, exhaust trio is good for around 20+hp - this depends on what parts you used and their design quality. I know this because back when I was N/T I only had an intake, exhaust and straight pipe (which I will consider equally effective as a header) and I was exactly as fast as my friends stock GS-R Integra (170hp) that weighed a little more than my RS.

If you have $1k to spend I would say save for a little more time and once you have close to $2k you could purchase a Stage I turbo kit. If this is unrealistic to you then the next best thing would be nitrous I suppose. But that is a very unsatisfying modification in my opinion - so I would go with a more efficient intake manifold + throttle body. Even if it gains you somewhere under 10hp now it will be of much help later on if you go turbo or all-motor.

Say what? Your friend must have missed a few gears. I see LS Integras spanking n/a DSMs all the time. So to say you could keep up with a GS-R and your only mods were an intake, exhaust, and test pipe is absurd, considering they're about 30hp more than the LS. And last time I checked, the Integra actually weighed less than an Eclipse. This 20+hp off a intake, header, and exhaust seems to be a little much...I would guestimate 15hp MAX.
 
The next thing i would get is the afx udp its not hat much in price and gives you a good bit of power

I forgot to elaborate more on this I guess. The GS-R had two W7 sub's in the back + phoenix gold amplifier. I have a base model RS Eclipse with power nothing (except sunroof) and had no audio system in my car at the time or spare tire.

I got beaten by an LS integra with intake + header + test pipe + ignition pretty badly. Not anymore though :)

I can understand now....those W7's are pretty beefy. I too have been beaten badly by an LS....damn n/t Eclipses.:mad:
 
cai, header, and cat back is not going to even have a noticable gain. ur not going to feel the gain until ur actual engine puts out more power to use the bigger pipes. if they tell you your gonna feel a gain from just bolting on cat back its mor elike your going to hear the difference.... good luck.
 
i wanna go(am going) all motor with my 4g63 N/T 2g Eurospec

do u think a header for a 1g 4g63 will fit?(i geuss it would,what do u guys think)
i know that i need a Catback from a 2 g

yeah,and Intake etc is in the Works,a Bored out Tb as well as well as a Cam job,with all this(doing it this winter when my cars in the garage)
will bring me up to 170 or even 175 HP?
(motor has 150hp) do u think 25hp is realistic?
 
I'll probably invest in bigger throttle body and new camshaft and cam gear....would I feel a different with these mods.
