hey i could use some help. see i'm going to be getting my crank reground and need to know if i have to pull the motor to get it out or can i pull it from the bottom. any help would be very.....helpfull

I'm thinking you can get it out from the bottom. Only problem is that you will have to deal with pistons falling out the bottom and having to reinstall them from that side which would be a bi*** imo.

You could give it a try. Worse case scenario, you would have to just pull the engine and you we're thinking about going that way anyway.

You're going ot make it a whole lot easier on yourself by pulling the motor though. You will need to reseal the bedplate and install all your bearings again when you go to put it back on. Also, VERY IMPORTANT. Don't forget the oil ring at the bedplate to block seal by the oil pump. You will regret it.

Now, if I was stupid and missed that this is not a 2G, then excuse me.

thank you for the help, oh and it is a 2g talon. the pistons fit pretty tight in the cylinder anyways, cause i have the rod caps off of the number 1 and 4 cylinders and the crank rotated and the pistons and rods are suspended in the cylinder

I thought about that after I had went top bed last night. Yeah. If you can get everything out of the way, you can do it from the bottom.

Seriously though. There's an O-ring on the pass. side, rear corner you cannot leave out! If you drop it or lose it, you WILL leak MASSIVE amounts of oil from there. We had my engine all back together and installed and didn't realize it until we started the car and tuned the idle down. We had to pull the whole thing again. OMG

i'm usaually pretty good at putting stuff back together if i saw how it came apart, but i will be sure to watch for falling o-rings :)
