Elkin,
Everything is stock but very well taken care of. Engine, transmission, and body are in great condition.

I've already ordered a K&N cold air intake system. i havent decided on headers yet, Borla or Pacesetter. The Borla is $100more. High flow cat and custom 2.5'' pipes as soon as I choose a muffler.

Any suggestions on the best ways to get more power without turbo or nos?

You want more power...

Go turbo... oh shit. You said no turbo.
Get a 50 shot of nitrous... oh shit. You said no nitrous.

Let's face the music here. I faced it a long time ago with my 93 ES. You aren't ever going to be fast without heavy internal work.

i have a pacesetter header and it didn't feel much different.....but its my only mod so far. just do the basics...intake exhaust and headers...then save up for a turbo car.......

Ignore them, they can't prove that a N/T DSM sucks, maybe they don't like it, but you may not want to be the fastest car around. Plus with turbo there's more maintenance. Get a pulley set, and cam gears, get new cams, port and polish everything you possibly can. Get the best spark plugs and wires you can find. When you have the money, get some head work, pistons, rods, etc, etc. Turbo is obviously nice, but there are alternatives if you look hard enough and you're willing to work for it.

Agreed. Ignore me. NT Eclipses make excellent daily drivers. My advice is save up $1500 and buy and old, beat up GSX to race. Racing an N/T... I had a friend who sank 8 grand into a N/T Eclipse and could just barely outrun a stock GS-T.

I havent found any GSXs for sale in good enough shape to be called "old and beat up". Ive seen some that have blown up and barely running with thrashed transmissions.
It is a daily driver car.

Well congrats on your purchase and welcome. I've found my NT to be very reliable and quite fun. It may not burn off the line but it does sound great and gets upto speed pretty quick. I've heard mixed results about the pacesetters so its upto you. Do a search on this forum and see what comes up. I really like my Magna Flow muffler and 2.5 catback is great for high-end (esp 100+). Granted turbo boys will rip me a new one I've heard mulitple turbo guys complain about rattiling and a rough ride at high speeds. This is possibly due to the greater amt of torque the turbo guys engine puts on the chassis. I'm happy to say my NT is sooooo smmmootthh at high speeds it's dreamy. Either way, keep us posted and I hope you got a manual. I don't like autos Turbo or NT. Also, from what I've heard CAMS make a big difference if you have intake/exhaust but then you might need to think about new valve spings and an irratic idle. I'm still debating on the CAMS.

extrude hone everything.

2.5" exhaust from the cylinder head back

hks 264 cams

upgraded valve springs

1mm oversized valves

remove rev limit

11:1 compression pistons on stock rod

that might get you a little over 200 to the flywheel but it'll cost you a couple thousand dollars as well.

TRUE DAT. Didn't check the date on your car. So why do you list your car as an n/t with turbo? If you turbo'd an originally n/t 1g, it's basically a tsi.

mavisky, how did u get your compression to 11:1 and how did u remove the rev limiter? What is the rev limit set to anyway?

Higher compression with 'high compression pistons'. I don't think you have a rev limiter so don't worry about it.

yes my car is basically a tsi as of now, the only real tell tale signs it was once an nt are the transmission, the throttle body, and the vacuum hose routing diagram on the hood. but since they listed that option i chose it. as for supergoat he actually does have a turbo hanging off of an nt block so he is truly a nt w/ turbo.

i didn't raise the compression on my engine. i actually lowered it with a turbo block. now that i think about it i think tim g is right about the rev limiter since i smacked 8950 rpm when i missed my 3-4 shift and found 2nd instead. (thus the rebuilding photo in my signature)

wrong purchase:|
i havnt raced anyone yet but i did 135 before i hit traffic on the freeway Sat night and i was still feelin pull

stock N/A car and u hit 135 and u feel it ll go more ? OMG are u ok?
or maybe ur speedometer doent show normal.Or mybe ur engine is at 20 000 miles only or it just got rebuild ? My car with all the mods I have stops at 130 and ur stock car runs better? Tthat means that we the ppl that do upgrades just waste money if stock cars run faster them modified.

How come you dont want to go turbo or spray? I can understand not going with the turbo, theres a ton of stuff involved, but nitrous is cheap and easy. If you dont want eithere of them, someone else just gave the best advice: extrude hone everything, bigger cams, and pretty much any other bolt on you can find.

TO make themselves feel better LOL.

If I can find a nice not beateon on GSX and afford it I will...until then my GS is shipping from AZ with 87k miles on it. 5spd.

Here are a few things I am looking at:

1) intake
2) exhaust (2.5" mandrel bent pipe, high flow cat, muffler, and hopefully ported manifolds)
3) NX wet 75 shot, maybe direct port?
4) MSD ignition
5) Unorthodox pulley set (crank, alt, water)
6) HKS cams (264 but might go 272 on both)
7) I see cam gears mentioned alot but not sure what they are exaclty
8) fly wheel would be nice
9) Nice custom Head
10) Pocketlogger
11) Swaybars and strut bars
12) Light weight wheels
13) might rev her to 9k rpms
14) new interior lights/gauges
15) still thinking and adding/changing

Not sure what that will net me or even if I will do it all. I am trying to keep in mind it won't be as fast without a turbo but if I hit the nitrous that should even things up some. On the other hand its a daily so I might not do much to it, maybe some appearance things, and just drive it and enjoy it. Or if I got a good value on it trade her in on something else.

Who knows

With the above whats a good guestimate as to what it should run with a good driver...?

1. Pacesetter is crap.

2. Naturally aspirated eclipses are crap.
