93 gs n/t have a limiter?!

Hello all. does the gs have a limiter? I cant seem to get it over 110 give or take a couple. I can get up to 95 in 4th but then it takes a lonnng time to get it up and over 100. any tips?


the only thing I have done to the gs is the air silencer.

also I had a 94 eclipse 1.8 and I had the same thing couldn't break 110.???????

well my 91 doesnt, and my friends 92 turbo doesn't that bastard buried the needle....real smart......why you need to go any faster? n/t wont get close to that in the quarter mile?

dunno. I guess just for the sake of saying I max'd it out. Is there any way to crank out a little more power in 4 and 5 gears? even when I am going highway speed I have to drop into 4 and sometimes even 3rd for some decent power.


also do you guys prefer the 1g tsi or gsx? is there a real difference?

a 4-1 header and anything that will give higher end hp......2.5 inch straigh exhaust.....low back pressure(if you don't mind killing the low end and losing the streetability

how much do those run, were can you pick them up, and are they hard to install yourself?

Check the ignition timing using a timing light, set it to 8 degrees advanced at an idle and you'll notice a whopping difference, you should be able to get to 130 in a stock 2.0, unless your going uphill or have 35 ten inch subwoofers in your backseat or your carrying you half ton grandma to burger king, but check the timing, chris

I put exhaust, headers, k&n, etc. on my 93 laser n/t and I had it up to 120 the other night pretty easy

i have a 94' talon but when i got it and befor i added the turbo i had the same problem what i did to help was yes advanec the timing, but i cut open my air canister and added a K&N air filter and a test pipe. it helped a lot

Yeah I have a cheap pacesetter header on mine and I have no trouble getting over 120. (I always run out of road after that hmmm)

Headers will really improve the performance. I got some greddy headers and a cold air intake, bam.... the performance was SO much better. It pulled way harder and I can get up to 110 easy now, mayb 120 but I don't have a lot of good roads to go 120 on.

I have no problem getting my 98gs up to 120....when i was on the tollway here in dallas i had my car up 2 140 the slowly slowed it down and down....i was tight and scary as hell!!! and all i have is 2.75 in cat back n1 nad plugs. & intake ...illbe gettin greddy 4-1 headers and 75 shot of nit this wk hell ...ya....

in my laser n/t i have gotten it up to 125 before haveing to shut it down because a tractor trailer truck pulled in front of me and almost cause me to go off the road avoiding him. i only have a k&n high flow filter on it but i think it still have some left in it. that was with 2 passengers as well.

Yep. Don't know of any governors or anything on our cars restricting top speed. I had my NT up to about 117 about a year ago with basic mods > 2.5 Exhaust/K&N with Cut air can. Now I have a injen intake and a cold air box and it runs harder. My car is soooooo smooootttthhhh at 100 it's not even funny. It hardly even revved and has much more left. I hope to do a High speed run before the end of the nice weather. I'm guessing I could hit 130 pretty easy. Boy, that nearly gives me goose bumps just thinking about it!

mine used to not hardly pull after 110 in 4th tgear but droping it into 5th gear put it back in the power band and helped it clear 120 mph although it seemed to take forever.

I have a 93 gs 1.8l with only a modded intake and i have gotten to about 117mph... and that was down a big hill. The reason you can't go faster is because thats about as fast as the 1.8s go. I think. anyway, i'm mid way through a 2.0 swap so i can conquer this "speed limit"

no limiter on 1g eclipse, i got mine up to 138 while going down a hill on the i10. would have went more but without any suspention mod she got very unstabe very quick

when mine was up there it was flat, so still that it was kinda scary. very positive feeling though. you bastards! my sentra does 120, i want my eclipse back!
