I have a 97 n/a and was looking into the crower stage 1 camshafts. My question goes to all who have to pass emissions like me (utah). Being that it says in the description on crowers website that they are for daily driven applications, would they be emissions legal?? Would stage 2 still allow me to pass emissions and still be streetable??

first of all if they advertise for road use then i think one should expect at least 49 state certification (those same heads in Calif. might not be CARB approoved)...

After that its all about tunning and hiting the proper air/fuel ratio so it passes emissions....and depending on the year and type of test ( test varies from state to state...in neavada there is a huge difference trying to pass an OBD 1 over an OBD 2 vehicle which are the 96' models and on...on obd 2 the test instead of a probe uses a direct connection to your cars diagnostic system and runs of your oxygen sensor and emmisions array..if you have a check engine light on newer models think 2000 and on you automatically fail...even if you are at the right emmisions)

As long as you are in the proper a/f setup you should pass...on 95 and older models (nm just realized you a 97') if your On board Diag. sys likes your new cam

I wouldn't think that camshafts would effect emissions that much as long as you still have a catalytic converter.
