has anyone ever put a 2.4 block from a stratus in place of a 420a and use the 420a block or thought of doing it?

you do relize that I am talking about a DOHC 2.4 out of a Stratus...... NOT, I REPEAT NOT A Mitsubishi engine. and with the head off the 2.0 it would keep the exhaust in the front and the Intake in the rear but will the block bolt up to the motor mounts in the eclipse.

YES I DO KNOW what motor you are talking about I was thinking about doing this swap myself. NO there has to be custom mounts made along with alot of other things to do this swap. I'll post all that need's to be done.

well then what the hell engine does go into these cars without a bunch of unneaded work..... basically the stoker engine?

OK here we go this is a list of SOME of the thing that need to be done.

custom passanger side motor mount
custom oil pan
custon PS & AC bracket
lower water pipe dose not line up
dipstick need to be between 2&3 runner on the headder
oil filter re located
re wire coil puck
inj. re wire 4-3, 3-2, 2-1, 1-4
cam position magnet remove
use 2.0 sensor's

I know there is some stuff I can't think of right now but for the most part that is all of it.

Why would you want to get ride of your motor? We have a great motor in our car. The stroker is the same motor as our's just it has a modifed crank to get more displacement. SO why do you want to do a swap?

I wanted to swap the engine from the stratus to the eclipse because the displacement is greater and it produces much more torque its also a good way to gain HP. What are the differences in numbers with the stroker kit and I plan on buying a balanced internal kit for whichever engine I end up with. Do you know the R's that are possible with a fully redone balanced engine with 11.5,1 compression and 2.5in exhaust as well as a jeep TB?

by R's I mean RPM's like I have heard of people turning 9000 on a balanced engine and gaining power the whole way

to be able to rev to 9k rpms u better have blue printed and fully balanced like a mofo, having something like pauter rods or some grp aluminum rods because of the stress 9krpms puts ona 101mm stroke...

u need some nasty cams for 9krpms
a full standalone to tune it properly

ported head larger valves and many more things your not considering...

u can make good power at 11.5:1 with the 2.4, rev to stock redline and make decent power...

if u insist on reving that high u need all upgraded head parts and alot of money in the bottom end....

Bill

About how much hp anf torque would the 2.4 stratus block be puttin out with the 420a head and does anybody have any install pics or helpfull hints. If you did this swap could you still but the turbo kits out for the 420a or just have to go custom.
