Loss of power -- PLEASE HELP

Ok this is really making me mad. My car just seems to be losing its umphf. Mods i have done are: K&N filter, custom intake, pacesetter header and downpipe, no-cat, flowmaster muffler, turbo cams and i just seem to be losing power. I heard somewhere that cleaning out the throttle body gives a slight gain back because carbon builds up and starves the engine of air? My car is a 94 talon n/t with about 112k on it. The motor is in great shape so idk.........help please help

I think maybe you have back pressure from that flowmaster muffler

Just get some new plugs and wires and use CARB cleaner....... oil change......use some lucas oil stiablizer and put some octane booster in your car and get some stp fuel injector cleaner and see if n e of that helps your power problems... oh and get a reacharge kit for your K&N

Did it start losing power right after one of the mods? Or did it just start? And just a muffler won't give you a loss in power. I put a straight-through N1 on my NA Eclipse and it didn't do anything. We need to know when it started though.

The problem just started awhile ago. i noticed it after i put on the flowmaster but i highly doubt the muffler itself was the case? It started AFTER all the mods so i think its something with my engine. I have brand new wires and plugs and a fresh oil change. i put octane booster as well as fuel injector cleaner in at the same time of the oil change.

How many tanks of gas have you used since the prob started? Sometimes you get the bottom of the tank at the station and you get crappy, diluted gas. That could be it if you've only had the problem for 1 tank.

Have you checked your coil pack?

you said you added some new cams.. did you adjust the cam timing on the gears after you installed it?? or lets say, did you install a bigger cam?? smaller cam?? this plays a HUGE part in an engine's performance..

I put in the stock turbo cams. I didnt mess with the cam angle at all. Just swapped the cam and lined everything up.

wow i guess its only been one tank of gas. Hmm that may be it but im pretty sure its not. Idk about my coil pack. Well i think im going to check ALL these things this weekend. Thanks a lot guys and if u think of anything else drop me a line.

i have to clean my throttle body every year. junk gets built up in there i guess and mess's up the computer. This happend to my car and my friend who is a mitsu macanic said i need to do this or it will screw up my ecu. Before i got my car(i got it from my dads friend) the ecu was replaced because of this problem. If you cant figure out whats wrong with it best bet would be to take it to a mitsu shop and have them look at it.

i agree with nutshot. try finding out if your looking any type of pressure any where. even a vacuum hose the size of a 12 gauge togue ring could be enough to make your car sluggish, beleive me. that was my problem. but i also had an exhaust leak by the ex. manifold. Check all your hoses, even the smallest of them by your TB. Hope my expiriences can help you out.

or maybe its your computer... did you reset it yet??
all you gotta do is unplug the battery both positive and negative for about an hour..

i'm gonna go with ryan on this one.. i had same problem.. too much back pressure and the car chokes up.. do u notice a bigger power loss at lower rpm?

well thanks for everythin guys.........my engine is now in pieces. Doin a rebuild. I think the problem was the gas because once i filled up it kinda gradually went away. Thanks for all the ideas.
