Apexi,Greddy,Thermal,Which is best???
Hi,
I'm interested in getting a cat-back exhaust system for my 2G Eclipse GS,but had a few questions about three different cat-back exhausts which are:Apexi N-1,Greddy Evolution, and Thermal R&D my first question is which one is the loudest,(I want an exhaust that has a very deep aggressive sound),which one is the most expensive, which one gains the most horsepower and torq, which one will last the longest, and last but not least do you guys or gals for that matter know a better performing cat-back than the three listed above that isn't custom made? I'm sorry if these questions have been asked before ,but I really need to know!!
Thanks,
Dan
P.S.
Does any body have or know a web site where I could listen to any of these exhaust on a 2g eclipse Gs,or RS,or doe you people have sound clips I could down load?

Well, just make sure the piping isn't over 2.5" and they're all about the same at that point. It's all in what you want the muffler to look like, basically. Also, consider whether its stainless steel or aluminized steel; stainless will last longer.

I got mine with custom made 2.5 mandrel bent tubing and a Magna Flow muffler and it sounds great (deep and throaty) and should last a long time. Its stainless steel . The whole thing with professional install cost me $600. I saw a 2g NT like yours at an auction that I was revving up and cruising in the lot with a greddy and what seemed like 2.5 tubing that sounded really good and looked nice.

i would go with an apexi 2.5.. thats what i have and people give good responses...its not rattlely? or choppy like other exhausts..
performance wise, i also say apexi cause their exhaust systems use the least amount of bends..

I have the greddy evolution. i cant really compare it to the others cause i havent heard them. anyways, the EVO is a relatively quite growl at idle...and opens up to a nice deep sound at full throttle...though its still not rediculously loud, thats what i like about it.

I decided to go with Evo 2.5 I like the ground clearance on the muffler design, and I only hear good things about it. Compare it to Apexi N1 (I think those are the 2 best IMO) and just decide wich muffler style you prefer

i know the 5 zigen on a civic is kinda quiet until you get on it. the tanabe is loud at just idle. but i think the 5 zigen is higher pitch.

yeah there all very close as far has performance gains. although i do believe that the evo (which i have owned) is the heavier than most. i perfer hks, and thermal, and apeix. however if jic ever makes a cat back titanium system for the gs's and rs's that's what i would get next other than that i would go with the hks, then the apeix.

I dont have any of the exhaust kits you have listed and since you are shopping around i thought i'd throw this at ya. I have an OBX cat back system. I have been nothing but happy with it. No rattle sound at all or weedwacker. It is not Super loud but what it is is Base'y I make it almost my job to set off car alarms. i have even set of a building alarm once. Yes, there was some bragging rights there.
The power gains are huge, but it is almsot too free flowing i would keep the stock cat if you are to use it. I will be putting on a turbo kit soon i will let you know how it takes that

Thanks guys,Does anybody know about the Hayame cat-back how it stacks up to the exhaust systems listed above? Also does anybody know where I could listen to clips of these exhaust, like the OBX and the Hayame?
Thanks,
DAN
P.S.
HKS doesn't list the N/T Eclipse under the High-Power exhaust system application. Are you sure they make it for them?

I wont even say "USE A SEARCH" in this thread. Im just gonna post just to let it be known that next thread about exhaust before you post a thread and try to get answers to a question posted nearly 10 times a week, why not search?
