Replacing my wheel bearing and hub assembly and i have everything off including the 4 bolts that hold the bearing into the steering knuckle. Now the bearing wont come out of the knuckle. Do i need to get it pressed out? should it just come off by hitting it with a hammer? or do i need a hub puller or press?

I have read other threads on the topic nut none have said specifically how they come out.

I got mine out by hitting it with a 3 lb hammer. Mine came out pretty easily, but I have heard of people having to have theirs pressed out because they are stuck in there tight.

If you are replacing the hub and not going to reuse those parts beat it out of there. Or press it out but some good hits itll come out. Maybe spray some pb blaster or something on it.

I got one side done minus putting the axle nut back on. Had to bang on the thing for about a half hour with a slide hammer to get it out. PB blaster seemed to help.
