Cluster lights and tail lights dont work( i checked fuses)

So yesterday I was messing around with the cigarette lighter trying to get it to work. I dont remember doing anything that could mess up the lighting.

So i go to leave for school and turn on my lights and my head lights come on and thats it.

I checked the fuse and replaced it, it still doesnt work. what should i do?

was the fuse you checked blown? or did you replace a good fuse with another good fuse? if it was blown, did it blow again when you put it back in? are you using the correct amp fuse?

Yes im using the correct fuse, it was blown, i put a new one in just incase and it still doesnt work.

Check the side marker wiring harness on the front left side of the car...i had a few wires that melted and ended up shorting all the others so I had to replace a couple of them and it fixed the problem.

how do i get to that?

Is it the one with the light bulb on it? or the expensive headlight and turn signal one?

Did you check the blue 15 amp fuse under the hood?
I got a feeling that is it.

yup. thats the first thing i went to.

I took out my radio and had some copper showing on like 2 wires
so i taped those up.


So what could it be?

yes its the one with the light bulb on the knob... they tend to go bad.

Thank god its not the turn signal one. Thats expensive.

Okay i went to autozone and asked them and they came up with the $76.00 dimmer switch( the one with the turn signal thing)

what exactly is the switch called with the light bulb on it?
