quick question i came across a 420a valve cover of a 1997 eclipse gs and i drive a 1998 eclipse rs my question is do all 97-99 420a have inter changeable valve covers

Yes.

i beleive the only differece between the rs and gs was that the gs weighed more due to having more options, like power windows and etc.

Yes, both trim levels used the same engine and valve covers.

and for a little more fun you can use the valve cover from a DOHC neon as well if you don't want any lettering on the top.
