ok so after my rebuild i cant wait to sound different and stop hearing the stocker jaja ok so my question is i want to buy this Apexi N1 Exhaust System for 1995-1999 Eclipse GS and im going to go with the 80 mm for my turbo application which will be like 3-4 months later is it ok to use the 80mm for 3-4 months while I get my turbo kit and what exhaust manifold should i get for when i go turbo ?? im planing on getting an evo III big 16g
 
Um... I don't see where it could hurt, your neighbors may not like it.... Being that "we" have 420a's, you don't have a number of choices to pick from. To my knowledge, there are basically 3 types of manifolds you can pick from: the tubular set up from ci motorsports, Hahn, and star/ebay style manifolds. That's if you don't fabricate one yourself. Keep in mind the evo super 16g turbos are td05's so they won't work on these t3 style manifolds. You could always check Hahn to see what their prices are on their super 16g. I know on all of their turbos the flanges are t3.

And the turbo mani? I myself have a star manifold and a Garret T3/T4, but I don't have the same turbo you're plannin' on getting. HRC is a good place to look for that kind of stuff. OR you can just piece a turbo kit up yourself. But make sure when you do piece it all together that they all will fit together. I had a friend here in Longview, TX do that... Wasted his money, but he learned his lesson ;)
 
yeah that what i needed to know so i only have 3 choices on the manifold unless i fabricate one which is unlikely ill probably gonna have to go with the hrc turbo kit... and what u mean by your neighbors may not like it??...is it too loud....i would like to hear a clip of the exhuast so i go with the 80mm apexi n1 right?
 
Well since you're still N/A, it'll be kinda loud. That's ok. I have an Apex'i N1 Exhaust too. Sounds awesome :thumb: Sounds good with a turbo too! Mmm Mmm good! :rocks:



alright perfect imma get it for christmas then....i like it loud..to scare the riced out eclipses here in town with noob mods....
 
While your N/A with that 3" exhaust you will probably lose some power.

But, once your turbo, you will get back the power you lost, and some.
If I were in your shoes I would do the same, that way you don't have to buy one exhaust now and then another later for when your turbo.

By the way, a bit off topic here I apologize, but, 420aNEWB, what was your turbo route/plan? Just wondering OMG) Good to hear another 420A joining the boosted 420A club :rocks:

well after searching on HRC turbo kit i hear allot of good things and good power so i guess ill buy the stage 2 but yeah my rebuild is going to be on December 13 and hopefully goes as planned and getting the apexi n1 for christmas...then start the year fresh with my college refund+income tax do a paint job and buy the turbo kit somewhere around march...but ive always liked the evo III 16g but then i would have to fabricate a manifold and i dont want to go through that trouble..but im not sure if to buy the hrc 16g or this one Garrett T3 Turbocharger, quick spool! - TREADSTONE PERFORMANCE because i would like to have a quick spool would be nice to shift at 2k rpm and hear the pshhh! any one have experience with that Garret T3?:dsm::talon:
 
Wow, they don’t give you any exhaust/compressor specs or anything. I would go with the Big 16g from Hahn. It spools up fast....
 
Somewhere around 3800-4500 rpm, this was on a gsx though. I don’t know where 8psi of boost is on a t3 S16g. Should be in the same ballpark. Waiting for someone to chime in with a t3 S16g.....

Somewhere around 3800-4500 rpm, this was on a gsx though. I don’t know where 8psi of boost is on a t3 S16g. Should be in the same ballpark. Waiting for someone to chime in with a t3 S16g.....

.48 A/R Turbine with .50 A/R Compressor. It's the generic size that just about everyone starts with. (I have it too).
Mine fully spools to 10psi at ~3500rpm.
And the Star log manifold is actually pretty bad when it comes to spool time. It's not the greatest when it comes to performance, but it gets the job done and it will last.
Also there just isn't really any tubular manifolds to buy for the 420a. Besides the OBX Ram Horn...
 
just read up on OBX Ram Horn looks good and liked the 1 year warranty nice quality on cimotorsports ... i couldn't find the star log manifold can anyone link me to it?
