How do i take this off? I mean, when you turn the bolt the pulley turns so what do i do. the heads off and everything. I don't get it. theirs nothing there to stop the pulley from turning. Help please. And is the thread direction the same as all or opposite?

Wont the balancer puller spin also? I mean it will connect to the pulley.
 
Okay, i randomly got the bolt off, now its the pulley. I'll have my dad check with a few mechanics at work. I'll go to advanced auto parts and see if they have anything to help out.
Man, did that bolt smell bad. What type of lube do they use on the crank pulley bolt. After 140k miles it smells like a big fart.

Advance should have the correct puller you need, and you should be able to rent it for free. Make sure it's the one for chrysler applications. It's a 3-jaw 5-ton puller.

Just for future reference; I'm not sure how you got it out, but use an air gun. Otherwise the pulley is just going to spin as you said.
 
The crank shouldn't spin if you have an A/T and the car is in "park," so I assume you have a M/T. If you put the car in gear and lower it enough so that the driver's side tire is on the ground, the crank shouldn't spin, but it's been a while since I've done this. Barring that, use a screw driver between the spokes to keep the pulley stationary. Conversely, you can remove the starter motor and wedge a screwdriver or crowbar into the holes in the flywheel. Unfortunately, not everyone has an air compressor...

Also, remember that the puller needs something to push against. Threaded steel rod (all-thread) inserted into the crank works well: the size is M12 x 1.75.
 
So i got everything off. I rented the 3 jaw puller from auto zone. Worked very well after i got a hardened bolt from a local store. The first time i bent the crank pulley bolt. oops. ha, guess i need to replace that. i needed to unscrew the bolt every time i pulled the pulley 4 millimeters. slowly i got it to pull out. without bending the bolt!

So you were using the bolt as leverage for the 3 jaw puller..?

All you had to do is (as said above) stick a screw driver to something in the spokes of the pulley and unsrcew the bolt. Then use a chrystler harmanic balancer puller from Autozone or any other parts store.
