How does a cam take advantage of porting a head?..
I thought the purpose of porting and polishing was just for better flow, meaning a little more HP.
They compliment each other.
Super fat ports that flow like a hydrant won't do much good if the cams barely open the valves, and only for a short time.
Likewise, cams that damn near bounce the valves off the pistons, while remaining open seemingly forever won't help too much if the air has to get drawn through a straw of a port to get to the valves.
Nice visualization.
