This is just a review of Symtech's o2 sensor simulator.

Just need to say that anyone looking into removing there cat will undoubtedly need this simulator.

Removing your cat and leaving your lower o2 will cause a cel light to come on. So I removed my lower 02 sensor only to have another cel light. I faved a sensor simulator using parts found in your local radioshack but still could no outsmart the ecu. I got a cel light for having my lower o2 staying at center for more than a minute.

I bought symtechs simulator and it works great. You'll need a datalogger or scanner to tune the simulator. I used a scanner to tune mine. Used a 2.0 signal frequency and works perfect, cycles between lean, center and rich just as frequent as the upstream o2. Left the amplitude and afr just as it came from the factory.

I check CI motorsports page and they have one slightly more expensive that looks just like symtechs one. A member here recommended I use symtechs a long time ago and I did.

This 02 sensor simulator is awesome.
I'll be checking on it during the weekend to see how it holds up. Will post any changes.

Well after driving the car for a 30 min trip to school and another 30 min trip back home. The resistor that came with the o2 simulator got very very hot, to the point that it boiled a wire that symtech placed right on top of the resistor. Symtech would also loom both the simulator and the resistor together, as a precaution I separated them so the heat from the resistor wouldn't get to it.

After seeing how hot this sole resistor would get I soldered three more smaller resisters and hallowed out a small power converter that I had laying around and used it to put my resisters in. I choose the power converter box because it had a small 12v fan that i would use to try and keep the temperatures down. So far so good no cel light and now no excessive heat.

Will post pictures soon. I had to do this fairly quick because I had to get the car up and running fast.
