photo What I did this past memorial weekend

Well instead of going out to the beach like most of the people that i know. I decided to do something to my car that I've been trying to do for a while now.

First thing was to relocate my battery to the trunk. I did this with 1/0 gauge wire due to the fact that it was easier to find than 2 gauge wire. I currently have a 150 fuse but going to switch to a 200 breaker this weekend. Here are the pics to illustrate.

This is were i routed the wire from the engine bay to the back through the left front fender.

I cut out the center of this rubber cap to protect the wire from being cut.

This is the inside of the fender.

Here the wire going to the back.

This is the battery itself inside the box. The box inturn is strapped to the body.

I also removed about 10 to 12 pounds of sound deadening.

I took the pics with my camera phone so they might not look all that good.

Thanks for the FYI on the fumzz thing. I didn't know that. Guess I'll be leaving the windows a bit lower now

Its not that loud as one might think. I actually drove without the stereo on for a few days after having the car at the shop for a week and a half. (finally painted the sucker).

Looks good. Hey are those orange dash/instrument cluster inserts factory or aftermarket? They look slick.

There actually the factory ones. I just painted them. Didn't use adhesion promoter though and paint is starting to chip in some areas.

Just spraypaint with adhesion promotor to help it stick to the plastic then?
