Custom intake questions

I have a cold air intake that literally is in the front bumper on the lower right where the right breather is on the bumper thats where the cone is so its really bound to get wet i just wanted to know if you guys had some ideas on how to stop it from going to my engine. And I do have a custom short ram I put on when its raining but if i get caught off guard i wanna have a back up plan

My filter is sitting on this peice of plastic down there.
Ive driven in the rain gon through a car wash with it and nothing, man there was even water ON THE FILTER and it still didnt get messed up.
youd have to have drown the filter in water to hydralock but driving around in there rain you should be fine, aslong as you dont hit a deep puddle. and ALOT of water goes up.

Rain isn't going to hurt anything. Submerging the filter element in standing water will, however. If you are that concerned about the risk (as well you should be), just run the shorty all the time. You're not getting a substantial enough gain from the longer pipe to justify the increased risk, imo. (We're talking 7bhp vs 5bhp, really.)

Yeah, I highly suggest ditching the cold air intake for the short intake. I had a cold air intake on my N/T back in the day and ended up driving through a puddle in a parking lot in the rain. Needless to say, it cost me an engine and 3 days of pain in the ass labor. Definitely not worth the gains by a long shot.
