St.Albert,
I currently have a MS, and am having issues with running and tunning it by myself. Have tried the local tunning shops in my area. But no one has experiance tunning it.

I talked to one shop couple hours drive, that have tunned them before but they had nothing good to say about them... reccomended i get a AUTRONIC instead and priced it out at $2700, with 15hrs install. like $5000 all said and done.

My buddie got his 240sx equiped with the autronic by the same company but got the unit off ebay for cheap and got them to install and tune it.

just wanted to know if any one has heard of this autronic company or has some advise as to what other options i have for standalones. I just wanna drive my TALON again.....

I've done a couple auronics on DSM's they are great units, the SM-2 and SM-4 are oldschool units that work on our cars if you're looking in the used sector. They were one of the first ECU's besides a MOTEC to be able to work on a dual coil pack 4 banger like ours are. ( well, at least within reasonable limits)

Honestly, the MS should do what you need, but i have personally seen the older units have trouble holding a steady AFR no matter how much we gave up to "variables" it would just get off more and more all the time so we replaced it with an autronic SM-2 this was on an Alpha Romeo, car still runs great to this day and the autronic's been in it around 5 years

EDIT: Just noticeed you're in a 420a motor, besides MS there's no info on how to get a regular stand alone to read the trigger signal to properly light the coils and fire the injectos at the right time in correlation to the crank on all 4 cylinders (this is because the 420a was equipped with not only a trigger on teh crank for each cylinder, there's 3 for each, and then 3 triggers on teh cam so that at all times teh factory ECU know's how far each piston is from TDC on it's compression stroke. This is too much info for most stand alone ECU's and would be easiest to get a harmonic damper with magnets in it for a hall effect pickup. A few years ago they were all over the net on neon forums when people were doing turbo conversions and looking for something better than an FMU.

But don't let that scare you, the hall effect sensor is easy to hook up and only simplifies the setup!

Let's see, for less than $5k, you can probably bring it down to DentSport in Norwood Mass and Have Matt tune it for you.
