split bottom question

Please d'ont flame me on this one, do i have to reseal the lower portion of the block where the engine crankshaft bearing(lower part of the block) clamp with upper block . did'int see any sealent when split it some week ago .I have check in chilton and used search button with no answer.So i ask here

Anaerobic sealant from Loctite. I could only find it in a large enough tube at NAPA. RTV will not work.
