I know this sounds out there but is the driver's side mount on a 2g 7bolt and the main passenger side mount on 2g 420a the same. I'm not talking about the part that bolts up to the car that has the studs and I"m not talking about the rubber insert(or prothane in this case). I'm talking about the actual mount itself. My passenger side mount isn't lining up and it did fine before I got this set ouf mounts. All the others worked fine but this passenger side mount doesn't seem to line up with my new neon block. Now if they are the same would something be different on my neon sohc block that would cause it to not line up as easy as before when all the others line up:confused:

Nope. I actually tried that one time when I was in a pinch; no go.

The SOHC block would have nothing to do with this. Its the same. How far are you off? Did you flip the roll stop the wrong way (funny we were just talking about that)? If it's a brand new prothane, it may be difficult to line up.

LOL Yeah I know but its' def not upside down or anything like that. It's not off by much but enough where you can just bang it down to line up. Maybe i'll have to take the mount off agian and check it out but so what your saying is a turbo mount wouldn't work at all or it would line up and just not be right cause this thing bolted up and fit fine when it was on my old block but on the new one it doesn't line up?? One other thing that I will say that looks weird the oil pan which I found out is different sits reallllly low almost on the cross bar which looks weird yet again all other three mounts are hooked up and cool.

I am not saying that you have one on there wrong, because i dont think anyone is as dumb as me, but it sounds exactly like what happened to me when i put my passenger side mount on upside down. The blocks wont make a difference at all. Just do yourself a favor and make sure that the passenger mount has an arrow on top pointing towards the front of the car.

The first time i put my motor back in, even after i got the mounts on right, it was a bi***. Second time a little easier to get things to line up. Hell now after about 5 or 6 times I can get it in easy.

A little thing i do on the passenger mount is dont put it on the engine until after its in the engine bay. Bolt the part that covers the timing belt and stuff to the engine but leave the round part with the prothane off. Once you get the other 3 mounts bolted in, but not tightened, let the motor hang low on the passenger side. Then loosely intsall the round part of the mount to the CAR first and then attach it to the motor. THat way you have a lot of wiggle room and when you torque the bolts down everything gets lined up.

That's how I did it before and this time. I'll mess with it tonight and see what happens. I still have to figure out where the hell my plugs is for my knock sensor cause I found it on this neon blow it's in the front instead of the back and I have to wire in my q45 tb which requires figuring out which wire is which on the old pigtail.

if you have prothanes the passanger side mount is by far the hardest thing we had to istall when i had to pull my motor back in the car. when my motor was ready to go back in, i installed a set of prothanes. im sure you dont have the wrong one and im sure you dont have it upside down, the problem your having is simply geting the bolt through the mount. first off if the driver side mount is already installed and tourqued down, loosen it up so you can get a little play with the motor itself. be carefull not to loosen it up to far so the studs fall through the holes though. once youve done that put the passenger side mount on the studs. push the mount down inside the mounting bracket, its alot easier to move the mount around iside the bracket if you put some baby oil on the prothane and the bracket. use an alignment tool to get the holes close. once the holes are visably aligned, slide the bolt into the mount. now to get the bolt through to the other side is tricky! take a small prybar and silde it down into the hole ontop of the motor mount itself. then pull it straight toward the front of the car. dont pull so hard that you brake the studs. while still pulling on the bar a small space will form between the mount and the shocktower, this will alow you to make visual ajustments on aligning the second hole. good luck man its gona be tough! P.S. DONT FORGET TO USE THE BABY OIL, IT MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!:dsm:

Actually I am doing my timing now so all I did is loosen the whole bracket's bolts out maybe an inch to the frame gave me the couple inches I need and them put the bolt threw and torqued it and the just bolted the bracket bolts back on and BINGO!:thumb:
