I have the portfueler assembled and on the car, it doesnt leak as it sits, but if you push just a little bit against any of the injectors they leak. obviously i understand that applying this pressure to them is why they are leaking. but im curious if you guys think i should worry about this before putting it back on the engine? Aaron at Hahn said i shouldnt have any worries bc since it is attached to the engine nothing should a applying any pressure to it. so any suggestions on what i should do? or should i just let it be? i just dont want my car to burst into flames is my only concern.

thanks guys

How are you pushing the injectors? As I see it, the fuel rail is firmly bolted to the intake manifold, no? Do the rail supports have that much 'give,' that they will flex like that?

no, the fuel rail is connected to a injector plate that hooks to the head. nothing pushes against the injectors but my mechanic pushed against them and then they leaked. so they dont leak unless force is put against them, and from what Hahn said and from what i can see there shouldnt be anything that puts any force on them. im asking if you think it would ok to run the car like this or not.

Do you have the plate, supports, and fuel rail on tight? I haven't had an issuse with mine leaking...

yea, they actually tightened it up a little more the other day by adding a washer between the rail and bracket. its all tight, it doesnt leak unless you push against the injectors. i just want to make sure this thing wont kill my car.

That's why I meant... I don't know why I wrote otherwise...

I'd say you'll be okay, but it's kind of disconcerting to learn that Hahn's PortFueler assembly is so flimsy. There shouldn't be anything to apply lateral force to the fuel injectors, but you can be sure there will be medial force as the manifold is pressurized by the turbocharger. Simple materials analysis suggests that those fuel rail-to-injector plate connectors can withstand more tension then compression or flexion.

By adding a washer(s), it would lead me to belive that it would only increase the space between the rail and plate. By doing so, wouldn't it would leave more room for the injectors to move around (up/down)?

Bro, if you have everything tight and installed correctly then you shouldnt have any problems. Mine doesnt leak and you cant move it when you push against the injectors. Make sure you double check the directions and you might find the problem.

Negative. the washer is used simply to tighten everything up. before the fuel rail moved easily back and forth after adding washers there is no movement. Hahn suggested using a lathe to grind down the fuel rail couplers which does the same thing, its just the washers were a little easier.

but if you push against the injectors does it cause a little stream of gas to leak out?

we decided today we are going to replace the o rings with new o rings, nothing seems to be wrong with the one on the injectors now, but we are going to replace them for sh!its and giggles (cant hurt) and make sure everything is tight. start the car with a volt box connected to the fuel pump, that way if there are any leaks we can disconnect power quickly. if no leaks then we are finishing the build. wish me luck guys.
