I was curiousw if anyone had the Venom 400 control module and if its worth the cash, cause i got some and need to spend it.

WHITE97RS thanks you!:dsm:

Don't.
Here's what it does. 0-35% throttle position sensor signal stays the same. 35% or more and it bumps it up to 100%. This wreaks havoc on an automatic since it changes gears based on TPS (interpretted as driver input). The benefits may be better for a 5speed. But if all you're doing is going to 100% TPS... why not just push it to the floor? Save your money for mods that actually do something like an AFC or other bolt ons.

Well i have a 5 speed so is it worht the money? and whats the deal on a throttle body spacer? does it do good as far as adding hp?

I've heard nothing but bad things about the venom from just about everyone. I sold mine just as quickly as I could. I'd save your money for something better. As far as the spacer... I've heard that the Tornado spacer was tested on like three cars in Sport Compact Car magazine and in all three cars... it lost horsepower. I'd save the money for known performance enhancers and let someone else be the guinnea pig for a while.
Doug

well any suggestions on mods, i got AEM intake, N1 Exhaust, 2/14 piping from the cat, plug wires

Header (if non-turbo route), Saving for turbo kit, Bigger throttle body (i.e. jeep throttle body mod, custom throttle body or performance TB), Tires and light wheels (15lbs or so), Cam gears Any number of speed mods. I'd really stress putting some bigger brakes (GSX or Baer), struts (tokicos), springs (1.3 drop), sway bars for starters on the suspension. It all goes hand in hand.

im looking more for HP, ive got alotta the looks good for now, ie. rims, lights.....

While alot of people go for the power mods... they get left behind or wipe out because the car can't do what they're asking for. I push suspension/brake mods alot. In the on ramps and off ramps I leave alot of the turbo boys simply because of good suspension. If you only go in straight lines... get some of those power mods listed above.

Doug is correct it doen't do all it's cracked up to do (venom 400) about all i got out of mine was a bettre throttle responce . deff. go w/ a s-afc,suspension mods are great , also if you can stand some rattle and vibration i sugest Energy suspension motor mount insert kit! it's not as bad as you may think vibration wise it grows on you .

its not bad but def go for an safc!! cause once you buy a venom and later decide you want an afc it cancels out the dumb ass venom.. and any other chip you have cause the afc will do it all..
im an example i bought a jet chip(garbage) and venom(better than jetchip) and now i got a safc and there is now no use for the venom.. or the other bs i got..

I have recently gotten the venom 400 control module for my 96 eclipse rs and have nothing but good things to say about it. It greatly improved my throttle response and made up for the loss of low end power i got when i bought aftermarket headers. If anyone is having trouble with it maybe they should make sure it is installed properly. And i know it costs a pretty penny new but i got mine used for 175 dollars and it was worth it.

its about time someone had something positive to say about it.. i have it and i love it too!! but now since ive bought the safc.. it really cancels it out..
