Newb Exhaust Question

I tried searching but couldnt find anything. I bought a pacesetter cat back exhaust from Summit, for my 96 Talon TSI. When I got it home, I noticed that the box said it was for the same car, but non turbo. So my question is does anyone know if this will fit the car. The pipe diameter is 2.5. I am new to these cars, but I dont know what the difference from the cat back would be.

Yes, it'll fit. N/T guys will use GST exhaust alot. So you can use N/T exhaust, but I would try and get them to give you the right one.

Thanks for the quick reply...............I would take it back, but they dont carry the right one. I would have to upgrade to the magnaflow set up, which is double the price.

Are you sure 420a and 4G63 exhausts are interchangeble? Moved to 420A bolt on.

As long as it is cat back, yes, they are interchangeable. I will point out, the usually the catbacks for the 2gnt have smaller pipes. Example: Pipes advertised for the RS/GS may be 2.5", pipes advertised for the GST may be 3".

Just as long as your 4g63 is fwd and not awd, a GS/RS catback will work, just make sure your running at least 2.5" otherwise its going to be counter productive.

My car is AWD. I guess Ill be taking it back...............................Thanks for everyones help on this. Like I said, I dont know much about these cars. Im a Mustang guy. This is my wifes winter car.

Tsudo makes a quality cat-back for about 200(I think) for AWD cars, and you can get a downpipe to match as wel if needed.

I don't think they make one for a 2g AWD. Just 1g AWD and 2G NT and GST ones. They make a downpipe I think for the GST/GSX though.
