Just have some questions hopefully some can help answer. I've realized through pictures that mostly all the posts are about 4g63 engines. I have a 420a that im boosting soon(have turbo manifold..and turbo is in the mail) What sould i work on next? Heres what im thinkin...intercooler...piping....wastegate....BOV...fuel pump..oil lines..some sort of fuel control (whats the cheapest/best route)and what else? I want to run low boost just to have a faster daily driver (4-7 psi) so take that into consideration. Also do i have to run the same setup (mas and maf-t) to vent my BOV? Help is apreciated :dsm:
 
I see you are a new member so let me say welcome first of all. Second there are a lot of members here who have boosted their 420a so I am sure you will be able to get plenty of help. I personally have the 4g63 turbo so I cant help you alot. You will need an intercooler and blow off valve.You also need to to upgrade your fuel system to handle the turbo. I am not positive but 7psi is probably the limit on these motors only because of the higher compression than a turbo motor but dont qoute me on it. Check on ebay for an intercooler. Alot of people have had good luck with them including me. I am sure the 420a owners will pipe in soon to help you more. Good luck and happy boostin. Travis

As for fuel control, the most cost efficient route for you would be a 12:1 FMU.

Basically the only things you can do right now while waiting would be installing the Walbro 255(assuming that's the pump you're using), and the FMU and the gauges. Nearly all of the other parts require the rest of the set-up being bolted up, in order to install them.

4g63's have a MAF(Mass Air Flow) sensor. That is what requires them to obtain the MAF-T(Translator) in order to vent. 420a's have a MAP(Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. We do not need any extra device to vent. 4g expects that blown off air to travel back through the tract. 420a's don't have any boost normally, therefore when adding boost it doesn't realize that it's missing out on the extra amount that is blown off.

P.S. Spend some time searching. It'll do wonders :thumb:
