Im buying myself exhaust for x mas and i want to turbo the car in the summer. My confusion is what exhaust do i buy to help a 420a non turbo motor and also a 420a turbo motor when i turbocharge it. I was looking at the 60 series flowmaster but i havent heard anything on them. I kinda like the Hks but the price turns me off just give me some thoughts. i also heard bout the megan cat back but i didn't get a price.

honestly I don't know how much you plan on spending on your exhaust, but anything over $200 I would buy a 3" exhuast and deal with the loss of power till your turbo'd in the summer.

Whatever kind you get is up to you....check out www.horsepowerfreaks.com They have a full 3" exhaust made by P.I.T. that is only $349 compared to $650

thanx man how much power loss will i get

THe Tsudo exhausts off of ebay are very popular also. Good fitment, made of stainless steel and not expensive. You might as go with the 3". I've honestly never felt any power differences up or down from mods except from turbocharging. With the 3" you might notice a little low end power loss, but I doubt it would be significant enough to get on your nerves

Maybe felt a difference from my exhaust since it went on after I was already turbocharged, but with that I definetly noticed quicker spool and lower egt's. Removing that stock cat was definetly helpful with that too.

hey how much did it cost you to turbo charge your motor im guessing you have a 420a

I was initially boosted for about $1500-$1600. $1000 for most of the kit then $100 for a walbro $50 for missing link, $300 for gauges, and the rest was miscellaneous items.

hey what kit did you get and do you like it

I went with the star kit, but honestly now a days custom kits is the only way to go...

pick up the tredstone manifold (or knock off I here), the turbo you want, the intercooler you want, the fuel mods you need, and head to an exhaust shop to fab up the rest, (IC piping, and downpipe (w/ 02 bung, trust me)),

That leaves you with a wastegate, bov, and boost gauge, and and other little things (oil drain etc.) And I know it hasn't been said in a while, but you new guys (new to turbos) don't forget to fill up on the good gas (91+ at least) about a week before you get started. Sometimes that can be the difference between going for a nice drive, or planning your immedaite rebuild.)

^^^I too have the star kit, or at least manifold turbo downpipe, intercooler and piping, This is pretty much the best suggestion though. You can even get intercooler piping kits on ebay and fab up the pipes yourself, then you would only need the downpipe to be made, unless of course you can find one of those on ebay also.
