right now im at 25psi with the portfueler and i was woundering if i can go higher?
i was told that the portfueler can only handle up to 26psi, is that true?

why dont you just buy a larger turbo and run a higher rate of cfm at a lower psi, therefore increasing your power and putting less stress on the turbo and other related parts.

Or just ask Hahn. I have to say that calling them is usually the first thing to do when dealing with their products. It's no secret that they have good customer service; might as well utilize it.

perfect a little rich. but im just woundering with that turbo that i have if its too much stress at 25psi like what can it go up to. its the t3/t4 turbonetics, comes with the star kit

I think your right. that turbo is not made to handle that kind of abuse. I would think it would already be inconsistant at 25psi.

eww. you could always use this sexy mama! : http://www.dsmtuners.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=54076&cat=7 LOL

The Star turbo is good for 25psi if you got the 50 trim or 60 trim. There have been 3 different turbo's available.

Now regarding the 25psi, are you asking if the Split Second box can measure past 25psi or are you asking if the injectors can supply enough fuel?

Terry

The split second aic that comes with the hahn portfueler has an onboard map sensor i believe its a 2.5 bar map sensor, but hahn says you can run up to 27psi with the split sencond aic

Yah you probably don't want to find out what would happen, if you ran it past what the map sensor is capable of reading i believe it would just see the maximum boost and continue feeding it fuel according to that, it would probably just start leaning out because it wont see how much boost there really is. I was curious as to how high the fuel maps go on my r4 tuning software for my portfueler after reading this and they only go to 26psi but on the hahn website he says the system is capable of running 27psi... hmm

well i guess ill keep it at like 26psi and just get a bigger turbo, what do you all recommend for upgrading? keep with turbonetics or what thanks

Just jog your memory.

Then

Take a look at some garrett and turbnetics turbo's. Decide on a price range, (1000 or 2000 dollor turbo)

I think cheapturbos.com has some good deals.

But decide on the horsepower amount you want, and decide want kind horspower you want your turbo to be capeable of.

60 series turbonetics turbos are always a good choice. But also decide on street vs. track vs. drag strip. etc.

Choosing a turbo is all based on your goals for your car like how much psi you plan on running and how much whp you are shooting for. Also a good thing to learn is how to read compressor maps, if you dont already know how to, when you are looking for a new turbo. Garrett and Turbonetics seem to be the most common companies.

hmm ok well since i have the portfueler i guess i cant go any higher than 27psi so ill stay at 26psi. i want a turbo that spools fast, thats what i love about the one i have now.needs to be BB of course and for HP well the most i can get 500 would be nice ha :)
by the way how do u find out if u have a BB turbo, just woundering if the turbo that comes with the star kit is and what is the advantages to having one?

The greater the A/R the longer the spool time, but with a small A/R your will spool quick and once exhaust gas volume out of the engine increases you will have more exhaust pressure build up. A bigger A/R is able to keep the exhaust pressures and build high boost but you sacrifice spool time. This is where a ball bearing center section is nice!

well what you guys think of that turbo in the last post i did, of course ill be getting Ball Bearing. is it worth the upgrade?and will it all match up with my current stuff like manifold and exhaust?

I'm not sure what you can get for your star turbo...you could post a GI in the for sale/wanted section of 2gnt and see how much somone is willing to pay for it. They say spool time is decreased by 15% with a bb CHRA. I know there is atleast one guy on 2gnt running the 60-1, mabe check over there you could get some info on his set up for more ideas.
