Hey guys, I recently installed some of those silver overlay gauges in my 97 esi. Ever since the temperature gauge does not work. It worked fine before I installed them, and all of the others still work fine, I have tried just about everything that I can think of to fix it too. I tried moving the needle when the car was off... nothing. I tried putting it in the middle while the car was running... nothing, it just stayed there even after the car was off for a night. I even pulled it off to make sure that it wasn't obstructing the needle. The one thing that I have noticed is that the needle seems to have notches, certain points where the needle seems to get caught internally? If you guys have any suggestions I would be willing to listen, because my next step right now is to get a different cluster...

Thanks,
Travis

I have seen this multiple times with overlays. You must be sure that there is no contact what-so-ever with the needle. They are very light and the slightest contact will stop them. You also might have bent (or broke) the needle in putting the overlays on. Also, just check all conections. there could even be a break on the board somewhere. But check for conflicts first.
