Sup fellas,

My friend just got a Eclipse RS and has a few questions. One, what is the difference between a GS and RS? Second, what all needs to be done before installing a turbo for an RS? Thanks guys!

GS & RS. Both non-turbo. RS usually has less options. No sideskirts, no pw, no sunroof, rear drum brakes, no fogs, no leather...etc...I have seen an RS with some options that my cousin's GS (has all options) has so it's slightly confusing.
Search in the 420 Tech sections and there should be tons of threads about turboing the RS, whether it be a custom built kit or something from Hahn or Star.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I know they are both non turbo (I'm currently looking for a GST or GSX). Anyways, is there any kind of building up on the engine you would have to do before installing a turbo kit?

I believe you can safely run not more than 8 psi without building the bottom end if you wanna avoid blowing your motor but most 420A guys build their bottom end to hold more boost. However I had a friend who was running 11 psi before he built his motor. I wouldn't recommend it though.

Is there anywhere that shows what most of the guys build up on?

I would recommend you search this 420A forum and you'll find tons of threads. You can also check out 2GNT.com.

Hey I like this guy (RWKustoms), he doesn't even have an eclipse 420a but he knows more then most people do altogether.. :thumb:

T-unit, SEARCH MAN! Theres TONS of info for turboing it. You will continue to hear the word SEARCH until you have a decent question regarding what you've found...

We are asked this shit almost every day, so hearing it over and over and over again is not cool...
