st pete,
i am about to buy an apexi n1 muffler off of ebay, but im wondering how to tell if its a fake or not. I dont want to get robbed. can someone please help me before I pay this guy?

yo, notice how it says "N1 Style" it doesnt say N1 Muffler, it also doesnt anywhere say that it was made by Apex'i, so my guess is its as fake as a 2 dollar whore

yea but Ive also been to automotive sites, who call it apexi n1 style muffler also, and they sell them for about $98. So are they refering to the "N1" as the style?

so all fakes then? Im assuming that if i ask the seller, by rules of ebay, he would have to disclose that info, right?

also isnt the obx an N1 imitation?

"the obx" ? OBX is a performance based company that makes parts such as mufflers, short shifters, struts all the way down to rice.. they have a broad range of stuff, OBX doesnt actually make full exhaust systems, theres a company called SS Autochrome that makes 2.5" piping and welds on OBX mufflers to there pipes and sells them on ebay, from what ive heard they make a very good product, theres a user on ebay called like SSAutoChrome and he sells a kit that includes the OBX B3 muffler...i thnk theres like 2 for sale right now, just go to ebaymotors.com and type like.. eclipse exhaust or something, good luck :thumb:

That appears a very close resemblance to the Apex N1 muffler, BUT....I do not see the Apex signature stamp anywhere on that muffler (should be on tip and not actual canister in plain view). And besides, MOST places (at least on the west coast) retail that muffler for $175 or higher (Ive seen $225 OMG I know). My bet would be its a fake/immitation N1 "STYLE" muffler. If your looking for the "STYLE"....it looks to be a deal, but if you want the original and the Apex name, Id suggest you stay away from it.

It is too cheap to be the real thing. If you have to have the real one it is going to cost upwards of $175. Every now and then Ebay does have a real one but it is usually $179. Keep looking unless you have bid already. If you are the top bidder and win and don't pay you get negative feedback that will not allow you to bid on other items you may want.
