All the 2g's have cold air intakes readily availible for purchase, but i have not been able to find one for my laser. So i got to thinking, could i make my own? I would take out the plastic container thats where the intercooler would have been and route the air hose down there for the cold air meant for the i/c. What kind of materials do i need? Any adapters to get the mas to work right and put the filter on? What do you guys think?

I think it would work, but it might be a good idea to cut and make the hole a little bigger so you can get a bigger tube in there. Ive seen it done before, but I dont know where.

Is your intake tube 3" diamater? If so go to wally world and get a 3" hose cupler (rv section, meant for camper sewage hoses). Stick the coupler in your intake hose and clamp it tight with the hose clamp, then stick a cone filter on the other end of the coupler. Done..that simple. BTW...On my Venge I did this and it sounds great and can definately feel the difference, and I would not go through the trouble of doing a ram-air setup like you were talking about. I currently have the headlights out of my venge and the cone filter is right behind the headlight so basically it is a ram-air setup temporarily and it doesnt seem to make a difference. I am not familiar to much with the 1g N/T..will this work on your car??

yea i think that would work, i've heard of people doing that before. Right now i'm not sure which way i want to go with the car. I finally got a job so the money is flowing in and a turbo conversion is really tempting. Its just a question of going sort of fast now or going really fast in a couple months. What do you guys think? Should I stay NA and build one of the fastest NA dsm's around, or convert and have an average turbo dsm?

convert to turbo because no matter what you do when you stay na you won't be able to achieve the kind of power you will get with a turbo, besides later you can always up grade or mod your turbo for more power..... right

yea, i've decided to go turbo. Now I just need the money! I figure to get the turbo running w/ a decent amount of boost its gonna cost me 5000. That includes low-compression rebuild, hahn super-20g, fmic, exhaust, etc. and I will have to do most of the work.
