I have a 1993 Eclipse GS with 127,000 miles on it and yesterday i raced my friends 1999 Eclipse GS with 60,000 miles on it and they were exactly the same we took off the same and were just side by side the whole way and my friend in my passenger seat said that I was moving up faster at the end. Oh yeah, both cars are stock, except mine has a hacked up airbox with a stock filter and platinum plugs and plug wires.
But anyways this just goes to show that 2G's aren't faster than 1G's by any means. The End.
 
yes our 2gs are faster than your 1gs. its a proven fact that we got 5 more hp stock. the 1gs are lighter so u factor in your weight to hp ratio and your friends weight to hp ratio and u will figure out y u were side by side. :rolleyes:
 
LOL!!!!! lowridin2g, a proven fact, in my 1g nt project car, the only 2gs that have beaten me, are turbos and on the bottle (rs and gs with turbo kits included). Yeah the 2g nt is 5 more hp then the 1g, but the 1g has a taller and closer geared tranny. This allows the 1g nt to put more power to the ground. That is why 2g nt's dyno at 110-112hp and the 1g nt's dyno at 120-123hp STOCK!!!!! When my car only had catback, hacked air can, K&N, and a short shifter with 2g shift knob, and I raced my friends 2g RS that had full exhuast (headers, race cat, catback), bored Throttle Body, cam gears, pullies, act 2100lbs clutch, short shifter, ground control coil overs, and energy suspension mounts, he only beat me by 2 cars. Wow now with all those mods, by your standards, he should have killed me. That means, my friend that now races in the import tunner drag circut can't drive, or your just wrong.
 
yea when u factor in weight to hp. but stock we got 5 more hp. and 8 more ft. lbs. tourque. 1 gs weigh 2690 and non turbo 2gs are 2833 lbs. not trying to start some kind of war here man. im just telling u we got just a bit more on ya stock.
 
Well I dynoed my 2gnt with just a catback and CAI with plugs and wires .I turned 124.3hp to the wheels.Does that mean I'll get killed by a 1gnt.with the same mods???Since my rs is 100lbs. lighter than a GS and 200 lbs. heavier than a stock 1gnt,wouldn't that give me the upperhand over a gs?

NO,with that little difference in weight and hp it really comes down to the driver.To find out wich one is faster you would have to put the same driver in both cars,same conditions and see how he does.

Besides that SLO92N/T didn't say wether or not the cars were auto,manual or anything.So we don't know if it was an even race.
 
The wheels on the RS are 14's instead of 16's and also the RS doesn't have all that power windows crap and power door lock motors,also I don't have cruise control.I think there are few more small differences like a rear sway bar and thing like that.That's what makes an RS lighter...

It doesn't just come down to the driver, when 2 cars that close, it comes down to gearing, and the taller 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Final drive of the 1g nt gives it a hugh advantage, but an advantage that a bad driver will lose quick.

My 1998 RS has 14.5 stock rims, power windows, power locks and cruise control. But Im sure the 2 12" Rockfords in the trunk dont help my weight problem =)

Yeah the 2g looks better, but unless turboed or squeezed, it will still be looking at a moded 1g nt's tail lights... But true they do look better.

Find a 2g that is not turboed or squeezed, and if it can beat my car, then I will believe it. Every 2g nt I have race I have demolished.

I think the two would be a close race but the 2G kills the 1G in looks hands down!!!!

The 1G and the 2G look simular but i think they look too different to really say witch looks better. Heres the thing. If your buying a car for looks and are going to race you are throwing away alto of money. I like 2G but performance wize i would take a 1G
