OK, I need some questions answered.

1. How long have you had your UDP.
2. Have you encountered any problems with reliablity or has the UDP caused any problems at all.

The reason I ask is because I have one and the guy that is gonna help me put it on talked to my dad about it. Evidently someone came to this guys shop after the pulley had fallen off and completly f'ed is engine. Now my dad thinks that the pulley is gonna be corroded quickly and mess up my car. Please help a man out.

I have had my car for just over a year now, have had the pulley on for a good 8 months.

It wont corrode, its made out of cnc something LOL.

Have not encountered any problems with it at all. I have an afc and i will tell you what, the pulley does exactly what it says it does, at idle it will underdrive your battery to about high 12-low 13 volts, while driving it is at mid-high 13....THe pulley is awsome, have not had any problems w/ a.c./p.s. or anything to that effect.

PS He probably didnt insall it right, the pulley is pressed on not held by bolts, he probably called it a day as soon as it barely went in.....noob OMG LOL :D

I have a friend with a neon and he has had his afx udp for about 4yrs now. He hasnt experienced any problems with it at all. And it is hard anodized so it wont corrode unless you strip off the anodized coating(which would require sandpaper) or subject it to a lot of salt water.

theres a bolt that holds it on too, NOOB!!! :p

ive had mine on for about 7 months now. and i have had some minor problems. actually, the big problem was the belts squeeking. it is soo annoying. i didnt tighten them after they broke in so they squeeked like a bi***. so i just had them replaced. the alt. belt shreaded 3 days later. the guy put a new one on for free. hasnt shreaded yet, its been like 3 weeks. i started hearing a little squeeking. so i tightened the ps belt, but it was tight as hell, and the squeeking was still there. so i put it on a lift and tighted the alt. belt, and the squeeking went away. its nice. ohyeah still shiny too.

Do I need to get a new bolt that goes into it. If so, does anyone know that part #.

you need to get a longer bolt to install it, but you can use the stock bolt to hold the new one on.

Had the pulley for about 8 months with no problems to speak of except the somewhat squeeky belts.

BTW..... CNC => Computer Nurmerically Controlled. ie. computerized machining center.

In short, it is the process used to make the pulley, not what it is made out of! :laser:

ya i just found that out today, my friends dad makes pullies (not for cars) and he uses a cnc machine

damn ive been burned many times in this thread. I think its time to lock it down,
