Now i'm not one to purhcase the new obx intake manifold b/c the differnces from that one & the stock is that, that one is shiny......But what if the obx one was ported.....I am going to e-mail the person selling this, but apparently he has ported the obx manifold and is selling them. I am most likely going to p&p stock one b/c of it being a) cheaper b) stronger performing. But I found this for all of you that just HAVE to purchase a shiny intake man....might as well get some performance gains from it

here ya go, have fun

Port it, don't polish it. Intake manifolds shouldn't be polished because it needs to have the airflow swirled up a little, and you will actually lose power if you polish the manifold than if you didn't.

somebody who's ported their IM please post if there was any gains since this was gonna be my next mod but i don't wanna*&^% up my car.I'm not saying that other people don't know anything I'm just trying to get some first hand expirience thats all.

after i install my nitrous & my afc, i am going to p&p my intake mani (already in my sig b/c im doin it within a week) I will let you know about the results....

Speedy where in miami are you? There is a dsm meet on saturday, IM me at mnf155 (aol/aim) or PM me if ure intersted

Extrude hone the stocker.

You can only do so much when porting.

Unless you have acutal flow sheets supporting this, do not post baseless statements.

thats when you decide you need head work done......the reason i do little by little is becuase i do not have $$$$ right now to do my race head.....well i lie because i already put a deposit on it but i have a remaining balance of $350 on it which will be paid off for when they finish the work.

So :p i will have my race head and the intake mani ported :p

People need to use the search. I've posted in about 4 threads about IM porting. I did it, and it helped out a lot. I got a 60mm TB and port matched the IM to 60mm and gasket matched the runners. Gave a good boost, and will be even better when I do the head.

thankxs, that 'll definatly be my next mod,I finally decided I'm gonna do it my self.there's a complete kit at costco for 20$ for a die grinder, brings everything even apolishing compound for a really fine finish. Thanks again Snoopy SLR.

I've got a fully race ported head and had my lower mani ported (mostly milling the injector humps down to a knife edge) and it was all gasket matched. When I hit 4 grnad on the tack, she comes into her own and pulls all the way to 7800rpm with a vengence I have not seen in almiost 8 years of owning her. If the port work is done correctly, you have nothing to really worry about. You might consider some fuel tuning ability once you open it up to flow that kind of air though. Wouldn't want to go too llean and blow shit. (check my mods - they sort of out flow most 420as).
