I have been trying and trying to catch rubber shifting into second ever since i bought the car. The other day i was coming home from work and i was a little hyper so i felt like giving it a shot again. I was wearing my treadsafe work shoes that i have to wear at mcdonalds (please save your laughter til the end of the post) and i just power shifted into second and heard this loud errrrrr sound and it was really cool. Sorry for the long post but I just had to share this experience with all of my friends.

Thats cool. Do you have an upgraded clutch? When my clutch was new(after break in period  ) i could get a 3rd gear errr....for a n/t owner i was pretty proud LOL :D

I scratched 3rd gear with my stock clutch on my N/T, whenever it was running good.... bald ass tires though

Nice. i took me a little while after i got my car to learn manual well enough to do it. now i can do it without even trying, its just expected now

yea peeling out ure tires wont be hard LOL, just don't do it too much as you willl burn alot of rubber which will in turn burn alot of money LOL

Like you guys said, i can do it now without thinking about it, but i have only gotting a spin once is 3rd with bald tires during the rain.

i can never get a 3rd chirp, but i can spin the tires out for hours in 4th in the snow LOL

yea, once you get more power going it will be easier. But do not do this too much b/c as i stated before you will get bald tires. Not only that but i had a friend get a ticket for peeling out of a taco bell (he actually did it by accident) but the cop siad it was showing excessive speed, cough bs cough

Yea i really dont do it a whole lot. I only really lite them up when one of my friends wants me too since i can do a pretty smoky burnout for a frontwheel drive car. Like yesterday when i was leaving my friends house (who has an 03 mustang svt cobra with around 600 hp that stomps anything that moves) and he told me to spin them so i said y not. I do like barking them into 2nd tho cause i figure that doesnt wear ur tires too much since it is a short little errr.

My tires were so bald that I could spin in 5th going down the interstate while it was raining OMG

im calling a lil BS on this thread...

LOL...catching rubber shifting into 5th??? rain or no rain, thats impossible, my friend has a 1967 shelby cobra that weighs in at 1937lbs with the driver, dynoed at 363rwp and he cant even catch rubber in 5th..

in my non turbo eclipse when i had intake, header, exhaust, hi flo cat, fidanza flywheel, afx UDP, and a custom 2.5" flex pipe (downpipe), i could catch rubber going into 3rd SOMETIMES. And that Nnon turbo eclipse would wax about 90% of the non turbo cars on this site..

and power has a huge role in catching rubber when u shift...so does your clutch...if you have a racing clutch that grips really strong then it will be much easier to catch rubber when you shift...

OMGoodness...i dont even know why im arguing about this...ive moved on to better cars and got my self out of this non turbo world of "who screeches their tires when they shift"

After viewing your gallery, I think we're glad to see you go. :barf:

Hey now, give him some props on those wheels, since they are about the only good looking cosmetic items on the car.... Racing floor mats??? :thumbdown :barf:

hes already got that turbo attitude :|

there are a few mustangs in town that can do a burnout all the way into fifth, but i dont know about chirping in fifth. I really bet that with the traction control off my friends mustang could bark fifth considering it is an svt cobra that has 400 hp stock. And his has a full racing exhaust, intake, chip, and lightened supercharger pulleys. I think it dynoed at around 600 after all that.

I agree that the barking 5th thing is kinda far fetched.

And torque would have more to do with it than horsepower. That is why a honda can have a decent top end and HP but they arent great at burnouts or breaking tires loose, because most hondas have really low torque numbers. And the clutch thing has already been stated above. :thumb:

gsgoin your car actually looks pretty good, get black carpet and lose the seat covers and it will look 10x better (floor mats would look fine then if you got red or black racing seats)

well i dont like the seat covers either, but there better than that g@y grey pattern it comes with. i would get racing seats, but my money is going to speed mods right now, not looks. but i might buy black leather seats from a guys GS-T cause he might get racing seats, and tear out his back seats, and i think that would look much much better. can i die my carpet black? or do i have to buy new carpet? hell can i die my seats black? cause that would look 10x better.

dont worry, im not offended, its all a matter of opinion. just like i dont like those old buicks or really old honda accords lowered with new 10 inch rims that stick 5 inches outside of the wheel well, but apparently some people around here do :barf: there are so many around here.

I meant I liked the wheels, btu that was about it.

i know, i was saying i got the same floor mats...

by the way, what the hell is a refferal? i was gonna look at my gallery to see my interior, and i notice i have 1 referal... anyone know what that is? thanks... oh yeah im seriously about the dying the carpet and seats and stuff, cause that would look so much better. so if its a stupid question, sorry, but if you could answer, thanks.
