Has anyone sent there throttle body to howell and had them bore it out to 55mm for $100? how do you do it? did you just send it to them or what? and was it worth it? oh and how long did it take?

thanks

I just ordered a Modern Performance TB. I'll let ya know how it is. I know there is a guy on ebay that is porting stock TB's and powdercoating them for about $50. Run a search on ebay for him.

52mm is our stock size, idealy if you arent going to turbocharge i would say 55mm would suffice

The opening on the TB and on the Intake Manifold is 52mm, yes. But the TB caves in before the butterfly. I think thats only 42mm. Our stock NT TB's suck

check out www.fierroracing.com

I had Eddy Fierro do my race port and then he ported my lower intake manifold. He said he could do 57mm or so for $75. It takes about an hour. The lower mani you see on his site is mine. Pretty sure the 2GNT head is mine too. A really good guy who will deal you straight. Tell him I sent you.

its not worth the money if you still have a plennum opening of 52mm. As for going turbo with a 55mm tb i dont think itll make a big improvement. a buddy of mine ports 420a heads all day long everyday at his shop. He did my intake, tb and head with a full radious valve job, decked, cleaned, and made room for the oversize valves for 750 bucks. He did exspecially for turbo setup which means the ports are extremely huge. Alot bigger than most places that there race ports basically just mean its gasket matching. i talked to howell they dont go any bigger than the gasket. Why I dont know? It doesnt hurt performance if your going turbo. Just more room for more air.

what size would you recommend for staying non turbo?

I would go with a 60mm and then get the plennum matched. Cheapest place i found for a 60mm is modern performance. You could also do the jeep tb conversion. You could do that for less than 40 bucks.
