Hi guys I'm thinking on dropping a turbo in my 95 GS, but I don't know what to buyand also I don't want to buy the turbo kit, I wanna buy the parts slow one by one. If anybody has done this before with their cars please tell me what to get and and the brand name for each part... Igot this list from a guy on eaby... but I don't know how to get some of them???

Custom made manifold t-25 flange

t-25 turbo (stock turbo off of a gsx with 30,000 miles on it.

1g bov

starion intercooler

cartec fmu (rising rate fuel pressure regulator) I could not find this

1:1 fuel pressure regulator Can I get any fuel pressure regulator???

oil lines I don't know where to get this

vacuum lines I don't know where to get this

mandrel bent intercooler pipe, connectors, clamps

190 walbro fuel pump

oil pan with oil tap in it How do I get this?

boost gauge autometer ultra lite

all steel braided fuel lines with A/N fittings

manual boost controller

2 ½ down pipe (to cat) with wastage dump tube

o2 sensor welded on down pipe

fuel tank lid with return line hole in it

missing link (map sensor fix) What is this???

Again If you have a custom turbo in Your 420a please tell me exactly what to get, I would appreciate a lot if you could help me!!!

ok, i havnt done this, but was planning on it, but then scrapped the plan because of a problem i ran into. i then just bought some nitrous instead.

first, ill tell you the problem i ran into. the T-25 wastegate is set at 13 psi stock. this is far too much for stock rods in a 420a. there is only one way to change this, and since im not an expert with fabrication, i scrapped the project. you have to take apart the wastegate and change the spring to a weaker one that will open the actuator at a lower level. a manual boost controller will not lower the stock boost setting. it works by leaking boost out of the line that goes to the actuator. so if its leaking out 2psi, the turbo must make 2 more psi of boost to make up for it and open the actuator. so, to lower the psi the wastegate opens at, the MBC would have to create more boost to send to the wastegate then the turbo is producing, and since it cant do that, an MBC is inaffective in this situation. if your motor is rebuild, then thats a different story.

for the fuel pressure regulator, i believe you are looking for the VORTECH S-fmu. it is a fuel pressure regulator that is boost sensitive and will raise fuel pressure accordingly.

with the oil oan, i think you can just tap your stock one.

this is the list i had for my kit

T-25 turbo off of 95 GS-T
1g BOV
GS-T SMIC
Vortech Super Fuel Management Unit
o2 housing
downpipe
oil lines
custom manifold (guy named alain makes them. hes over on 2gnt. he will flange them to any turbo)
Boost, EGT, A/F gauges
MBC
vaccume lines
piping
all studs, bolts, nuts, and gaskets to connect T-25 to manifold and o2 housing
S-AFC
Missing link(fools MAP sensor into not sensing extra air)
fuel pump

ummm... thats all i can think of right now. im sure there was more but i cant think of any. its a pretty big task to undertake. i read Corky Bells Maximum Boost, and learned a lot from it. do alot of research, and ask a lot of quesions.

ya but its about twice the price. i figured that my setup was gonna cost around $1500 for everything including gauges. while the only difference is the start kit would have a stronger turbo, but no gauges, and costs $3000. oh yeah it comes with a fmic instead of a smic, but i wanted a smic to keep it sleeper. for someone who is strapped for cash, custom kit is the way to go. more work but less money. but i am going to eventually buy a hahn stage 2 kit... eventually, when i get a real job.

Yeah that is the prices that your EXPECTING to pay but I assure you it will end up more than that. Esp. if you go with that whole list you made. Some of that stuff is not necessary at all. As for a cheaper route, Hahn now sells mani/ turbo combos, and then you can add on the parts you want from there. Also it your going to turbo the car stay the heck away from a t25, that turbo is tiny and you will prolly end up buying a bigger one anyway. I believe there some used kits on www.2gnt.com right now that you could get a deal on, or there is always DSM trader and so on. If you want to get a real good idea of what this will all cost go to www.2gnt.com and do some searching, countless guy's have done this over there so there is a wealth of info over there on this, as well as a guy who makes custom manifolds for the 420a. I would not really trust many people on e-bay to give you a straight answer. Plus if you are asking all these questions and don't even know where to find the parts I don't think a custom setup is that good of an idea. If you don't know how the system works inside and out then building your own is a really bad idea.

i did the math several times, and that was about the max i was going to pay because i was getting a good deal on the T-25, the 1g BOV, and the Smic. i was buying them from a friends brother. but ya your setup would probably cost a little more. i wouldnt trust ebay either.

hey what happened to your profile man? LOL

Depends, theres one guy on 2gnt i beleive that got his 14b kit off ebay real cheap. And someone on this forum picked up a star stage 1 brand new for 1000 LOL
