Can it be possible with $7,000?

Miami,
Hey ppl, can it be possible to hook up my 1g n/t to run 11's? I've been told I can but I thought it was going to be way more than that!

By the way the person who told me that said I would be making about 600 hp to the wheels. He also said I dont need to change my rodsbecause the 4g63 has the best one for the job. He says he can acomplish this with an 18g turbo and a 100 shot of NOS among other things.

I dont know man. The guy works for a recognized auto tunning shop here in Miami called Blitz. But if he can it'll be great huh?

yep and the last thread just like this ended up being a.
"well i dont think it will be that fast but ill be happy"

that goes to show you how much "Faith" you have in your mechanic's

I wish I knew a good mechanic but I don't. I guess i still have some research to do then.

BLITZ!!! Get as far away from them as possible!

Check out South Florida Performance around SW 184th and 107. Ask for Abib.

Thanks man, appreciate it. I did thought it was kinda weird to make my car run 11's for not more than $7k

11's on a FWD is almost impossible, unless you have your car go AWD, you will be screwed. Top you probably will ever get is 12's, high 12s, low 13's... on a FWD, you have such a crappy launch you will just end up burning up all your tires until you hit forth. I would seriously recommend use that money and get a GSX, if you are looking for that fast of a car.

Well, put it this way, although you do buy a limited slip, put it this way man... If you do that, you will only still have two tires moving at the same time, although you might think this solves your traction problem, your right, almost to a sense. This will get you probably your 12 second time slip, but if you want your 11, you will be buying a AWD. Supras are RWD, with 700 HP, and with street tires get 13's. Just let that soak in for a while, and maybe you will realise a 13 second time with a FWD is god like.

I don't know man, I've heard of a couple of 1g like mine doing 11's and being FWD. I know it might not be possible with $7K but I don't mind mind spending $12-14k if that's the case. Yes I would prefer to swap an AWD but that's $5k right there. And if I sell mine and buy a GSX the insurance is going to **** me cuz I'm only 21 and already have a totaled car on mi list.

I pay $2400 a year on my 98 RS. A 1g AWD is like $1800 TOPS I bet for you. I don't think I have seen many 1g owners paying over $1200 a year. Insurance will NOT fukc you at all. Have you called them? What kind of rates did they give you.

WTF???

LSD, Slicks. It'll solve all your problems.

Limited slip and slicks will solve your problems for "12 second times" but I don't believe for 11 seconds. Do you even understand what you are trying to say about getting 11 seconds, I mean that time is unbelievable to get in an Eclipse, I mean someone who gets that has a 20G turbo [or same capability or more], and has a AWD car that can get awesome launch. You could spend 5k and get the same times you are trying to get with a awd car. No offense man, but a FWD car is good for 13's and 12's, but once you hit 11's that will take some serious modifications.

I just think you guys don't get me. I don't give a **** if I have to spend a bit more money on mods. Bottom line, if I'm gonna sell my car to get another one I'll just spend the $16k I have on a '95-'96 Mazda RX-7 twin turbo R1 and start from there.

first off no way the 1g rods will handle 600hp. that's nuts. so run far far away from those guys.

and about the fwd sucks comment. there's a man in michigan i know. he was at the shootout for the i dunno how many-ith time this year in his automatic fwd. he ran a 10.5 so 11's are by no means impossible. this guy has no big sponsors, doesn't make millions.

oh and check this out. the top 3 fastest dsm on dsmtimes.org

yep you read right the third fastest on taht list (which contains a mojority of the heavy hitters in the dsm scene) is a fwd. and if you look on slicks and an lsd he pulled a 1.63 60' time. i got news it'll be almost impossible to hit those kind of times on any nearly stock awd car without putting the drivetrain in serious jeopardy.

on a fwd when you have alot of power and slicks you simply spin them or maybe wheelhop a little. on an awd and sticky street tires even, you snap things. i'll never go awd, i like my trannies lasting more than a few drag passes.

oh and here's the fwd top listings (the automatic i mentioned is numnber two) and remember these are all fwd's in the 10's.

But as we know, everyone of them had a shot of nitrous probably so when they reached the point where launch wouldn't be an issue, they let the nitrous take them up to the higher points

Oh you bet I'm gonna have at least 100 shot of NOS or NE. Bottom line is that working the engine completely with forged parts, blueprinted, ported and balanced....I mean every trick in the book....I know I can do 11's, but as I said I do think I'm going for the AWD. Someone said something about the drivetrain? Can it be upgraded?

Thanks ppl

they all do excpet the 4th place fwd (there's a line in their that either says yes or no for nitrous) but the kid never said he wouldn't be using one. and if they're pulling 1.6's and lower i don't think launching is that big of an issue for them. and hell so do all the fastest awd's i listed.

look at the 3rd rated fwd it has a 1.4 60' time same as glazer's awd ca that's in the 8's. i'd be willing to bet that if that 3rd place fwd had the same amount of money in it that it'd be alot faster than 10's.
