I was going for a fast run and my car stopped at about 123mph. I had 110 octane gas in it, but i have taken it to about 130 before. It just wouldn't go any faster than 123. Does anyone know the reason for this?
 
I'm assuming its a manual. A lot of factors contribute to your top speed in an underpowered car like our N/T's. Going down hill, or up a slight hill can change top speed. Whether or not the wind is at your back or head bucking you will change it. A lot of things can effect it, not just race gas.
 
be glad u even got to 123 in a N/T. LOL. :p
 
actually, u shoulda topped out at 140 today. u need NOS, the big ones..... 2 of em, and u need em by tonight. :laugh:
 
I dont know man last night i went from 60-125 just keeping her in 5th but wasnt used to the road i was on it was dark so didnt want to hit a sharp turn i was outrunning my headlights hehe.but yeah i could hit 135 with 87octane with just a cold air intake.

^^^I've hit 130 with cold-air and exhaust on 93 octane.

anyways wind is a big factor. i made a run and topped out at 125 before some cars were coming up... could have gone alot higher, i had just shifted into 5th at 120, but the cars made me slow down. then on the way back the wind was going against me and it stalled out at about 6000rpms in 4th. so wind is definatly a factor. and all i had was exaust.

Not true. A turboed car usually has more horsepower that can push against the wind at higher speeds. Horsepower is needed to overcome the resistance created by the air being slammed into the vehicle.

well you cant compare a 2gnt to a 1g turbo when it comes to topping out... thats like comparing apples and oranges, and oranges have way better juice

just stop talking because your making an ass out of yourself.... first read your signature :shhh: 420a is a sleeper... yahh but not stock. and it beats out a honda... what honda to which are you refering to. maybe a stock DX, EX iam not sure but i know your not talking about a H22,B18C5 or any other B16a iam not sure you even know anything your talking about.. also all i see in your engine bay is a cold air intake... and about going and topping out as much as a turbo... turbo eclipses you can see a guy in here posted a video going 160... and i know for a fact your car is not reaching 160. also the 420a wont go any faster than 125... maybe and i mean maybe 130 if your good with the wheather and slope factor. learn your $hit before you give advise.

are you retarded? i didnt say it was a sleeper, i said it was a sleeping giant... now if we go back to WWII when the #### bombed pearl harbor, a high ranking general said that, saying that he believe the united states had the potential to be an industrial and military super power, but wasnt at the moment... and boy was he right.... and thats what im saying about the 420a, it gets a lot of rap about how its crap, but it can be made powerful... soo uhh fuking read and comprehend before you open your mouth... and the NT can only top out at 125-130? are you kidding? i was at like 5000 rpms at 125 and still accelerating but had to slow down cause i was running out of room. and that was just with a cat back... and was that video of the turbo going 160 a stock car? and are you telling me that you would rather have a honda than a 2gnt? cuz if thats what your saying... my god i pitty you... cause i would def. rather have my 2gnt than a honda... and what about my engine bay only having a cold air intake? if you could read and comprehend, which you obviously cant, you could see that in my profile that is all i have under the hood at the moment... and im no expert by far but im not retarded either, i have a pretty good knowledge of these cars, so i think your the ass now :thumb:

Just because thats as fast as you can go doesnt mean everyone else does and a 420a motor has as much potential as a b16 but a h22 engine would take alot of mods to beat if its swapped in a hatch. The thing about our cars is its more expensive and it isnt like legos.
 
and all i see you have is an intake and exaust... does that make you any less knowledgable? cause thats all you have? well the reason thats all i have now(+ the pulley) is financial, i got about $600 to spend now so ill be getting more stuff... but its not the mods that makes you knowledgable... cause you seem to know a bit about honda's, and you have minimal mods... i dunno what you know about dsm's, but mods dont = knowledge... and you spelled haHn wrong...
 
ive beatin a couple of si's pretty bad around my area.track opens on may 15 brand new 1/4 mile im going for 14's before august.Im just gonna get a basleine before i put my afx/r and crane #16's. sucks those ecu's take so damn long to make!

good luck with that... im going for 14's before the summer is over too. i just put the af/x pulley on, and im gonna drop a 55 shot of zex in within the next month. then im gonna race this kid with a stock GSR integra at my school who says he can woop me :laugh: that will be funny(by the way, is there any way to tell if it is a GSR? cause thats what hes claiming and all it says on the back is DOHC V-TEC?). im also gonna get the 12(i think... the nitrous ones) cams, and hoping to get a SAFC, Bored TB, P&P intake mani, and some cam gears by the end of the year.
