i dont know if anyone has ever put a 91 gst engine in a 1991 gs but if you have i need some help with wiring and some other technical stuff?:dsm:

I have done the research to swap from the 4g37 to the turbo motor, and honestly you are in store for alot. irregardless of what motor your coming from (the 1.8 or 2.0) you will have to swap the harness to the turbo one, you also must have the turbo ecu. The fuel system may have to be upgraded, but im not too sure on that one. other than that you are just in store for alot of work and $$$

umm i have heard that you can run 3 wires off oyur orginal harness to get it running but you still have to swap the ecu and #@%#@%#@%#@%. Im not all to sure about this but thats what i heard
:dsm:

Sorry man but thats not likely. there is several sensors that are different on the two motors, not to mention the ignition. off hand im pretty sure that the non-turbo lacks a knock sensor, also the crankshaft position sensor isn't on the non-turbo (this is true for the 1.8s however im not sure if it applys to the 2.0) Mitsubishi did a good job making sure that the two harnesses are different. it just depends on how far your knowledge takes you. I would suggest grabbing the factory turbo harness, I know I can get the harness, ecu, manifold , smic and piping for around 250 here. but they guy I know is an idiot and doesn't know what he has
:thumb:
No matter what the swap will not be a small job. basically you need everything under the hood of the turbo car, because it is damn near all different

I really dont understand why everyone thinks this swap is so terrible...first of all if you swap your gonna have a nice lil ol sleeper nothing beats that, also your gonna get to know your engine real well, i guess everyone has their opinion just depends on what kinda person you are, i myself being a 1.8 driver im gonna be doing the swap and some guys here in town will do it for some beer and pizza so im all for it...if you find the right places you wont have to spend anymore then 2k on the swap

Close enough about the wiring harness. Only a few wires really. 1 on the MAS, 2 for knock sensor and a few more I believe but I'll research that.
