most you can do to a 2g 420 engine

whats the most you can do to the engine b4 one adds a turbo..
some1 mentioned gettint the howell n/t dohc bottem end kit...would that actually help?if there any other things you can do cept adding the aftermartket mods/and for the installation...can you take that to any local shop and ask them to install it?

I'm pretty sure the turbo is the most worthwhile mod, but you may be able to get cams or lighter pullys/flywheel in addition to I/H/E.

Have a game plan. You can do anything to the 420A as any other engine. Just depends on your money situation. May be expensive in the short future, but in the long run I say it's better to turbocharge it. Thats what I did.

a turbo kit is what ill eventually add...just wanted to know what more i can do to it b4 i add it...like how much i can crank it up as a n/a engine..
would be nice to have it at least up to 200 b4 ya add a turbo kit...

hmmm... the options are endless. you can blow it up with pipe bombs, you can set it on fire, you can drop it off a really high bridge into a river, you can drop it off a really tall building and just watch it drop, you can put it in a dress and call it nancy, you can use it as the world's largest paper weight... see? lots of options

only problem with building it up and makin it powerful before you add a turbo kit, is most of that stuff will be removed once the turbo kit is added. headers will be replaced with a turbo exhaust manifold and downpipe, an exhaust won't do much for you with a n/t engine. it will help some, but i highly doubt you will get to 200hp n/a. you should be ecstatic if you hit 175hp n/a... and that will cost you more money than a turbo kit would.

Its true, you will be hard pressed to get 200hp outta the 420A without work and some NOS. Just save up and get the turbo kit and forget about buying stuff to get 200hp before you turbo. In order to do that you will have to buy stuff that will be repplaced when the turbo does finally go on. Spend your money ONCE not twice.

are the headers the only thing that will be changed?if i get a HRC turbo kit will i get all the neccessary things with it?if not what would i need to get seperately

The kits come with everything you will need with the exception of an ehuast. The kits come with fuel systems, intakes, downpipes boost guage, bloww off valve, manifold, turbo, intercooler ( option ) intercooler piping, etc, etc. Pretty much anything you buy for your car as an na will be replaced by the turbo kit. To make it easier on you, DONT BUY ANYTHING for you car if you are going to turbo it in the near future. Justr save save save and put the kit on. Like I said, spend your money once not twice.
