I am just throwing out an idea here, but would this ever be possible?

I mean pretend the person doing it had an ungodly amount of money would this be possible?

If so, what problems might arise from this "Frankenstien" creation?

How fast would it be?

I mean I see the eclipse as one of the best looking imports out there, when fixed up right.

But imagine if Toyota or Honda had made this car instead of Mitsubishi, we all have to admit they make damn good cars.

Anyways, Twin Turbo V-8 in a 1999 Eclipse. Flame-ON!!!!

Yes. Anything is possible. You could put a deisel truck engine in it if you wanted although I doubt there would be enough room. For futre reference this kind of question is looked down upon because it is so outlandish and highly unlikely... though possible. If you do it good luck!

Have fun building a custom chassis twice as big. And body panels to match. Then it's not really an eclipse. But whatever.

according to feb 04 ssc magazine. page 69.
the sohc BMW v12 is 26 inches long and 500 lbs fully dressed and can be found in yards for $500.00
I'd like to know if that would fit my 2g Eclipse.

Toyota V-8 twin turbo, never heard of this one.Is that a truk engine or some,or custom racing engine for some of those JGTS Japan series ?

I suppose you could pull the Toyota body panels off whatever chassis you think that thing's in, and replace them all with DSM panels.

But otherwise, no.

i dont think Toyota makes a twin turbo V8....

i know they make a Twin Turbo V6 which is what you would find in a Supra (2JZ-GTE)

Anything is possible with money. Questions like this are stupid.

Come one man, are you serious? You might as well just buy a Supra. If you were to actually make this work you would have spent about the same amount of money with all the customization you would have to do.

Isn't it an inline 6?

correct....

Lexus did make a v-8 but it wasn't turboed(to my knowlage) It was in a lexus sc 400 or sc 300  not sure but one had the supra engine the other had the v-8

Lexus SC400 is a v8, iv seen a few of these in australia that sold as the Toyota Soarer as twin turbo v8's, custom jobs though. The SC300 is the 6cyl.

yo man u can do anything with "ungodly amount of money" but tryin to fit 4 more cylinders in a engine bay meant for only 4 cylinders is gonna be hard unless you have a custom fabrication shop but then again you can just tell a shop the does that type of stuff to do it for u. oh and btw do you want this to be a street car?
