Stock 99 GS vs. Stock 2001 Gt

who is gonna win and by how much? Stock 99 Eclipse against a stock 2001 eclipse GT both have 5spds?

Of course driver has A LOT of influence on the outcome of such a race, but the by the numbers, the 3G GT should be able to beat the 2G GS.

come on 90gsx, your not giving enough credit to the gt. the gs dosen't have a chance in hell. the 3g gt is a v6 which produces 205 hp while the 2g gs is 2.0L 4banger that only makes 147hp (on 5-speeds only, autos is like 140 or 142 can't remember). it's like comparing a 2g gs to a 2g gst, its no contest. i dont care who's driving stock vs stock the gs will loose every time.

I agree, but there are a lot of 2G NT owners on this forum, including yourself, that I do not want to disrespect or insult.

My mother has an 02 Sebring XJi (or whatever the tag letters are?), same basic platform and powertrain as the GT. I know it will beat a GS. H3LL I "whupped" a 5 speed V6 mustang SEVERAL times in the sebring one night, and those V6 'stangs, while not well respected, are rated at about 190HP.

Point is, yes the GT/XJi's will outrun a GS/RS eclipse. Does this make them fast cars? IMHO No. (Nice cars? YES.)

fast no (but i wouldn't call it slow either), but a rated at 205 hp... uh, looks to me like your moms sebring has 15 hp on them.
