Evo VI Questions

Does anyone know anything about swapping the the evoVI motor and trans into a 96 Eclipse GS? I was asking about the 4g63 swap and someone brought up the evoVi idea soooo if anyone has an input that would be great thanks.

I think the engines are mounted differently so it prevents you doing the conversion.

You arent able to because the Evo VI engines are mounted the opposite way of the DSM 4G63s so the engine mounts wont line up and the wiring harness wouldn't either.

It's a great idea. I thought the same way you did, but if you have the money... anything is possible. <They put a Supra engine in a RX- 7>.

There is really no advantage of putting an EVO VI engine in your car. The EVO VI is AWD the GS is FWD. Reason why the EVO VI is so good, is because of what the car has besides the engine.

Why not a mild built engine with a turbo kit? You'll gain more from that rather then an EVO VI swap. With the money your going to spend on a swap like this you can sell your car and get a GSX. Last time I looked for an EVO VI engine, it was around $5,000.

better yet spend about 3500 and rebuild the lower end with new pistons and rods then buy a turbo kit for it and crank up the boost. actually i think $4500 would get you a hahn stage 3 and a rebuilt lower end. and it'd be much much simpler than trying to install a evo engine into your car.
