alright...I got my exhaust done a while ago. Since i got it done, i've put the sound outta my head for a while. But now, i'm getting comments on how annoying my exhaust sounds. Ok... right now i have a magnaflow muffler on my car. When i rev high or accelerate quickly my car makes that annoying buzzing sound. I was told by a member on here and a few friends that my car makes that buzzing sound because my car is NT. I was told that since i don't have a turbo, the magnaflow muffler makes the buzzing. So i'm curious, what muffler would go good on my car without making the annoying buzzing sound. I thought about switching to an Apexi N1 muffler, but i just want to make sure that the apexi muffler or other mufflers don't make that buzzing sound. So i'm curious if the Apexi N1 muffler will make that buzzing sound or not?...or if anyone knows of a good sounding muffler that won't buzz when i accelerate tell me what they have. THANKS

yea i have the same problem, since i put my header on it started it, but before i did the header it sounded great, i dont know why it does it, but im gonna be changing to turbo soon so hopefully it will stop, i got a friend with a n/t with the n1 muffler and he say he loves it, but not saying that it wouldnt buzz on your car, not absolutely sure so dont quote me

yea, that buzzing sound gets more annoying everytime i think about it. Ireally want to find out if there's a muffler that won't buzz on the NT before i waste my money on another muffler that buzzes just the same as my magnaflow. THanks

I have an N-1 and I don't notice any buzzing
Really?...alright, i think i'll order one in a little bit. If anyone else has an exhaust that doesn't buzz on their NT, can you tell me what brand muffler ya got? thanks

I am thinking of getting a magna flow muffler and later on headers... so you are saying it makes a bad sound? if so which one should i be getting because i dont wana wast my money.

Most of u guys who have been replying are 2Gs. Does this exhaust set up (magnaflow muffler and a header) make the buzzing sound worse on a 420a as opposed to a 4G63?

Hey Ghost, seeing how you're the only 1G replying to this, how bad is the buzzing on your car?

I'm thinking about getting the chikara header and a custom exhaust using the magnaflow muffler but if sounds sh***y, I gotta think of a different muffler to use.

Thanks,
:laser:-Royce- :laser:

Do you have a cat back exhaust or did you just replace the muffler? if you just replaced the muffler, that's probably part of the problem. I have a 2.5 inch custom cat back with a universal apc muffler, and it sounds great, deep, a little loud, but not ricey.

yea, actually i got a hi-flow cat, the whole piping behind the cat and a magnaflow muffler installed. And it makes that annoying buzzing sound, i am going to get a header later on, and have the muffler shop that custom welded everything on to install the header. But before the header i was thinking of changing out the muffler to stop the buzzing sound, then put on the header. But now i think i about it, i should probally put the header on first and see if it eliminates the buzzing, then switch the mufflers if the buzzing sound still can be heard. What do ya'll think, change the muffler out now to stop the buzzing? or put a header on to see if the buzzing stops, if the header doesn't stop it, then get a new muffler added? or just give an opinion. THanks

the buzzing on my car is sorta bad, it happens at around 3500 rpm, then a little bit higher than stops, i dont know why, it must be the muffler or something, so im gonna buy a different one like the N1

No, i don't shit about 1.8's but the 420A was in the 95-99 non turbo DSM's

1.8l is a 4g37, I think. I have a Flowtech Afterburner muffler and it just sounds great. No buzzing at all. For $50 it was a great buy. I would recomend this muffler to anyone!

Does the Greddy Evo 2 make buzzing sounds or what not?..... I always thought that was the best exhaust to get.... good sound... good performance.....

I got the APEXi dunk exhaust on my 2gnt and it sounds really nice.

If i didnt get that exhaust I wold definately go for the EVO by Greddy. I have heard that on a lot of cars and that exhaust sounds really nice. I reocmmend that definately.

I have never had this problem, I have a OBX Hi-Flow Cat, Greddy Header, And OBX Cat back. My car has a nice Deep sound to it. And I have had people who know nothing about DSM's ask if I had a V6, and stand there with a OMG look on there face when I tell them its a 4 banger. I just got my OBX header in the mail and will be putting it on tonight, My brother just bought his 1st car 95 rs. So I am giving my Greddy header to him as a present
