Straightpipe

I am getting tons of mixed answers.. Does anyone have a nonturbo eclipse who has put on a straightpipe with a catback exhaust? If you have a straightpipe does it help alot at all rpm ranges? What size straightpipe do you have?

As long as your straightpipe and exhuast don't exceed 2 1/2 inches then you will feel some gain. If your pipes are any larger then you will lose too much back pressure and will lose bottom end performance. Your car will be pretty loud with no cat tho.

I had a straight pipe on my old GS, and it was so loud. Also, because it was non-turbo, I felt a significant loss in the lower RPMS, yet a significant gain in the higher RPMS. It just depends if you want low-end torque or high-end horsepower.

i have a pipe on my 96 GS. and it you will notice bettere throttle responce in higher r's. cuts out int the low end a little(thats why they make 4-2-1 headers) and is r*&^%$ F!@#$%^ loud. i know someone who will make one for u.
