Exhausts. Can someone please help???

OK, on my car, I am wanting to get a header and I want to replace the entire exhaust. Can someone please explain to me the best full exhaust systems to use for the best prices and explain what I need to replace the entire exhaust. I do not really know the pieces of an exhaust. I would like to learn about exhausts so I know what to put on my car and what to order when I get mine. *EDIT* My car will be a N/T and I want a great noise and performance, but nothing to extreme. What would be the best combinations for this? I would like to know which parts to keep and which parts to change, some help would be appreciated.

its fairly simple depending on what car you got and how much they have on the aftermarket for it....heres what you should do, get a good aftermarket header, with the header should come the collector pipe, which connects to the catalytic converter, then replace the cat with a new one, propably a 2 1/2 inch cat, then get some custom piping done from the cat back into a free flowing muffler, that should be all...you dont have to by an expensive cat back system to get great hp, i got custom cat back exhaust thats 2 1/2 inch and im happy with it...hopefully that helps you out..good luck.

you could go with what i plan on doing which is an obx or hp racing header and apexi n1 catback. i have heard those are very good combos

Try an OBX-R Header from ebay (seach for Mitsubishi Exhaust and it'll come under the seller SSAutochrome). Change your cat to a high flow unit. Stock piping is 2.25 on an N/T so if it's in good shape, leave it alone and add a stainless muffler (I have a Lawson that sounds very deep). If your stock exhaust is starting to go, make sure you have a shop mandrel bend you a new cat back as it's usually cheaper than buying a name brand. Oh and make sure you have a decent intake on the car since it works best with an exhaust system.

Whatever you do, don't gut the cat (you'll lose low end power) and don't spend $500 on a Greddy system that won't add any more horsepower than what a good muffler shop can make you. If you insist on a store bought cat-back, Tsudo makes some fairly inexpensive ones that are stainless and sell for between $250-300.

i agreee ^^^. i hear the obx header is good, i have the magnaflow cat back system, which IMO is very nice for the money

yo jayden, this is midnight_talon from ebay, ya know i bought your wing... well about this exhaust thing. i have a full obx set up. obx 4-1 ceramic coated header w/ ceramic coated downpipe, catco high flow catalitic converter, then stainless steal obx type-h catback exhaust. it's pretty loud, but i like it. it's a good loud. i got all this off of ebay. i should have paid over $1000 for this whole set up, but i got some sick prices off of ebay and got it all for about $600. my suggestion, if you don't already surf 2gnt on a daily basis, you should start right now.

Depends on if you have a 1G or a 2G. They are different engines and not all companys make 1G headers. If you tell us the year it might be easier to help you.

I have a stainless steel OBX header for sale. I've had it on my car since July or August. It's only seen rain two or three times and my car has been off the road since November. If interested email me at [email protected] I don't need it anymore. Going the way of the turbo.
